Not exactly, wha usually happens is that, when retailers get the product, which is usually 1-2 weeks before product released (It doesnt take 2-3 days to ship thousands maybe millions of units to stores all around the u.s), look at Relapse, what happened was when it got shipped to vendors which sell it to the public, some of the vendors was a fan of Eminem, so he opened it up really early and got an early listen, and he shows it to his friends, and so on.
