Just Blaze speak on working with Eminem

Justin interrupts a terrible interview to let the world know that he is in fact cookin’ up some marvelous things with Marshall Mathers.

“Now that he’s put it out there, I am working with Eminem on his new album. We are working on Relapse 2 pretty heavily. As of yesterday, we’ve done about six or seven records. I go back in with him in a couple of weeks and do three or four more maybe. I’ve been quietly goin’ back forth from New York to Detroit the past two months. Just gettin’ a feel for it and gettin’ a feel for working with each other. He hasn’t worked with too many people outside his camp. I haven’t worked with him before. We got a good working relationship now. A good friendship now so the records is comin’ out good.”

oh man, this is great news. it's cool that they're friends too. i wonder how they met? also wonder who came up with the idea of Just doing records for Em. Maybe they met somewhere, knew each other's line of work in hip hop obviously, and hit it off as friends, and Just sent Em some beats on top of it. Cause just because two people are friends- one being an MC, and the other being a producer, doesn't necessarily mean they have to do music together. That's what Royce and Em were trying to do- rebuild the friendship outside of hip hop. In this case, it's establishing one.

Didn't Eminem say they recorded Relapse 1 and enough material for another cd? So he's putting it out as Relapse 2?
If they are recording new stuff for relapse 2... what's gonna happen to the "old relapse 2" which he already recorded a while ago with relapse 1? I hope he still releases that someday, maybe as a "never released collection"...
