At the start of this year, we had the idea of Shady taking over with the return of Em.. But it didn't really happen to be honest.. Apart from now i was just thinking..

Some go on about CashMoney.. But with no Wayne album as of yet plus him going to prison, no hype for Bidman's album, and Drake the only one really one getting any recognition or hype apart from Nick Minaj's ass.. Is it fair to say that they're the ones doing the business at the moment?

i wish em would come back on the underground seen... or atleast start releasin some of his throw aways at least.

what about that song psycho... eminem comes in... "man these are average raps, im keepin the savage batch hidden." and he smashed on that song. i wonder what the savage batch is like.

It wasnt his year really was it? As a fan I had to watch him do some stuff that made me quite sad actually: the MTV "prank" being one. Haters had a full go at him all year imo, and his CD didnt attract enough new fans. When it is his year we will know it and my instincts tell me taht will be next year/ the end of this one.

Gucci hasn't blown up, he's just done what he does every year..

He's constantly on his grind, always putting out material, so even if it's not the greatest, it's constantly there.. He doesn't give the hip hop community enough time to get bored of his last song, cos he'll put out like 2 more a couple of days later lol

But yeah, for a guy with limited lyrical ability, he's done well for himself, good work ethic, you can't deny him that..

I mean Wayne put out the odd stuff that didn't get much attention, constantly putting back his album.. And Birdman hasn't done anything as of yet to catch the eye.. Nicki Minaj is up and coming, but it seems that only her ass is going to be famous.. And like i said, Drake's the only one out of that group that's grabbed the year by the scruff of the neck.. I like his shit, especially the deep stuff, his album will do pretty well..

Yes u r correct. If u think about it: he is still the best selling artist of the decade and the highest selling rapper of the year. Its just that even with that distinction, he hasnt given ppl what they want 2 hear tbh. He's the greatest artist there is (who the fuck is better than Eminem as an artist) but he hasnt been given ppl what they want 2 hear from him/ hasnt lived up to his past greatness mainly bcoz relapse was an album he had to make rather than wanted to make because when you are recovering from a severe drug addiction, it takes a year and longer to properly recover and find your feet. So the numbers tell u he's the best (which is true) but obviously he hasnt put his best work out there and that is mainly what is hurting him and allowing the haters to breath.

I know your point, but you don't seem to count that nowadays Em doesn't give a **** about "how many fans they were bringing in, how much money they were bringing in, how much they were getting people excited and involved", he simply just wants to make music for the sake of it, and of course for his core fans. That's it. He doesn't do anything "outside" music anymore, he doesn't want to be involve in the level of fame he was in before, he doesn't want to be "pop star" again, it's just about rap nowadays (I'm not making that up, he said it in interviews ). It's not like he's still a broke ass rapper now. And it's not like he didn't prove enough in the past that he's one of the best to ever do it already. We should be happy that he still puts out music for us to enjoy

Yeahh i know all that, and i'm not saying his motives haven't changed. But it's just that when people heard- 2 Em albums, 1 50 album, and D12 shit.. they were like "SHADYS YEAR"..

I was just wondering what people had thought of their year in comparison to other labels.. Presuming people on here do actually listen to other rap apart from Em.. Which with a couple of posters i doubt lol
