Tuesday night BET aired its annual Hip-Hop Awards, reports Rolling Stone.
One of the highlights of the show was a pre-taped cypher, or a freestyle rapping circle, where rappers go one after another. Rappers like Mos Def and Black Thought from the Roots joined in. Eminem, however, had to be censored when his turn came up.
The rapper made a statement about rape, causing the audience to gasp. He also called out Miley Cyrus, saying that he could wait to “nail her.”
MTV however, reports that nothing went wrong with the usually controversial rapper’s performance, saying that his “verse was a fence-clearing homerun, as be brought his distinctive cadence and semi-automatic handgun flow.” MTV and BET are both owned by Viacom.
