sing for the moment is a classic song, but Kim & Stan were concepts hitherto unthought of. MMLP had the creativity edge over TES.

MMLP had his best closing track he's done (Criminal), it had some of his funniest quotables ("i put lives @ risk when i drive like this, i put wives @ risk with a knife like this"), had some amazing tracks like The Way I Am, who knew, marshall mathers.

the only thing TES beats it in is the lead single (i prefer Without Me).

I think that difference between his first 3 albums is this:

SSLP = mostly funny Shady
MMLP = mostly raw Shady
TES = classic Eminem

So basically, it all comes down to which side of Em do you like. That classic Eminem is the guy who got me into listenin hip hop in the first place (I was listenin to nuthin but rock be4 that), and I respect him for that.
Plus, The Eminem Show:

a) was the first rap album I've listened to;
b) was the first rap album I bought
c) was the album that got me into hip hop

So, now you see why do I have to go with TES on this one... :y:

One's a classic; one's just great.

The Marshall Mathers LP, IMO. :y:

I love both of them so much, but there's just something about the MMLP that makes me like it a BIT more. There's something so classic about it.

I'm a fan of Em's dark stuff but "Kim" is almost too graphic. It's basically two people screaming at eachother the whole time and when he strangles her at the end it just..paints to vivid of a violent picture for me. I know that's why alot of people like the song, it's chilling. Amazing story telling. I love the chorus though. :y:

The Marshall Mathers LP. That's kinda one-in-life-time album, he won't be able to create another masterpiece like that ever again. TES sounds a little too poppy for my taste (mostly cause of the beats), plus it lacks the wit, I prefer Shady.

The Eminem Show. You can list songs off each album that are amazing, but then you would have to list EVERY song on TES. Simply put, it's a classic. And it was the first album from shady i heard. MMLP is amazing too though, don't get me wrong.

I agree. And every song is unique and classic in its own way. TES is a masterpiece. :worship:

MMLP was Em at his hungriest, imo. He laid down a ladder for himself with SSLP and took himself to the top of the roof with MMLP (lame metaphor...I know). MMLP was that Angry Blonde music we all grew to fucking love and the oldheads grew to hate. Em's most controversial moments spawned from this album...shit was fucking ruthless.

TES was Em's most reflective work to date and was definitely him at his peak of world notoriety. While I love the Eminem Show, the Marshall Mathers LP hands down is my favorite Eminem record and hiphop album of all time (and that beats out a lot of great rap records).
