And Yes he is the King of Hip-Hop, there is not a single artist ever in hip-hop that can compare, maybe in the united states but we are talking worldwide here not in just one country!, his status is a million times that of any other rapper that ever excisted globally.....i'm just stating Facts.
Uh, Eminem was never MJ Status. MJ Status is if when you die from murder, international police will drop whatever the fuck they're doing and run to the murder scene. MJ Status is if when you die from murder, the media from all over the world will send teams of reporters to get first-hand accounts of it and make up fucking bullshit in the middle and there will be so many reporters, police have to shoot their way through the big-ass crowd. MJ Status is if when you die, people will erect a second "Jerusalem" holy site where music-fans take pilgrimages every year to pay homage to the deceased legend.
Eminem won't ever get there.
And saying he is the king of hip-hop and no one can compare just shows how narrow-minded you are and that you probably don't listen to rap as a genre. Please, 2Pac's status still remains to be higher than Eminem even though 2Pac is dead. Nas gets twice the respect Eminem gets from the streets in general. And that's no fact...
Also, "Lose Yourself" is NOT one of the MOST successful singles in history. You really don't know music history, do you? There's tons of songs that sold more than Lose Yourself I can name off the top of my head. And they're not all rap either.

Hello.
And to answer the actual question: a rapper can't exactly fall off. Rappers can get influences by cash and get lazy, but once you have written hip-hop, you won't NOT be able to write it again, unless you have so mental or physical condition. (drugs)
And Eminem was never irrevelant. He was just overrated at times... People, please stop trying to defend Encore. Truth is it wasn't up to par with his other albums, no matter how much you're trying to convince yourself Eminem had a flawless career. It ain't true and no MC ever had a flawless career.
I personally believe Relapse could have been much better, but who cares if people try to divide Eminem up into old Slim and new Slim. It is what is is; Eminem possesses a different music style now than he did before in the early 2000's. No point in trying to deny that some people dig him now and some don't.

Thats when I truly realised Em's rhyming talent >> Hip hop!
Even though, I'm slighty mad that so called Em fans have turned their back on him... I still believe he will produce a fantastic/classic album.
You mean that Eminem himself is greater than the whole culture of hip-hop? Wow. True Stannery at its greatest peak; I never saw such a ridiculous comment in my life. Hip-hop is a culture. Eminem is an aritst. If you wanted to bullshit us correctly, it would be "Em's rhyming talent >> Rap!" Fail.

Peoples last impressions of Eminem are of a broken down wack MC.
Then he came back with Relapse, which was an album full of boring material, with an annoying accent. He had no wit. He had one good sorta personal song (Deja Vu). People don't want to listen to bullshit material in a retarded accent filled voice. They want real songs that carry a message/theme, and rapped in his own voice. Either the angry voice, or the goofy make you laugh like crazy voice. He had neither on Relapse.
What are the two songs people pick as their favorites? Beautiful despite being horrible lyrically and DejaVu.
So now peoples impressions of Eminem are of an MC who has lost his ability to craft a good, solid album from start to finish, and an MC with a boring and bland personality (Check his interviews).
Bottomline is simple, Stans. He fell off the mountain top throne, and gravity pulled his ass into the earth. He's clawing his way out, but it's slow progress. Very slow.
He's a has been.
As much as I acknowledge Eminem's flaws as an artist, to say that an MC has "lost his ability to craft a good, solid album from start to finish" is just an opinion.
Although, I do admit, Relapse disappointed me for a hip-hop head... The accent just pissed me off. Don't defend the accent. Yes, I'm used to it now, but some people can't take his songs seriously with that fucking voice. Some even think he's a joke, so don't blame it on us.

Mainstream means that you still give a fuck about selling. Making songs like "We Made You" means Eminem still gives a fuck about selling, despite the amount of money he has.
Okay, actually, to differentiate... Mainstream and Underground are constantly confused. IMO, almost all rappers are mainstream if they are signed to a label and underground means you are "unsigned hype", according to the Source. So, mainstream can be a good thing and underground can be bad.
Bring the hate, people. Watch me get bombarded.
