Wic_Kid wrote:^Yeah, but Em has like 100 times more videos than Pac. So when you wanna watch video of Em, you have lot more shit to watch. So the viewers get divided...
But anyway, you're right. He needs to step his game up and rap some real shit. If you're already maturing, mature-up your rap, for gods sake. I wanna hear you spittin some of that Lose Yourself shit! Defend your crown!...
Amadeo wrote:da.relapse.lp wrote:Wic_Kid wrote:Offcourse he needs to gain some respect from the streets, no question about that. But for a rap superstar, he doesnt get that much. And I think thats actually a reason why he doesnt get it. He got too big. I know that there are lotta other rap superstars who are respected from the streets, but lets face it. A white boy is the most famous rapper ever? No wonder he's hated.
I beg to differ. No other GOOD rapper really hates him.
And 2Pac is the most famous rapper ever, IMO. Fame doesn't mean skill though.
dude... eminem is far more popular & famous than tupac ever has been.
eminem's fame peak >>> tupac's

$(@TTY B@Y wrote:da.relapse.lp wrote:The fact 2Pac died when you were just a kid settles it for me.
how old are you?
what exactly is this debate about? (cba to read) who's more popular? more famous? what?
ps, yeah he died, that's the thing that REALLY blew him up, n yet i STILL heard of eminem before him.

But you couldn't guess that until I told you, right?
lol, i never pictured you as under 18 tbh. 'cause you come across with logic and good debates on this forum. and you all in all seem very knowledgeable of classic/old rap music

dude in 2002-03 he was as close to MJ status as anyones ever been. around the time 8 mile came out, he was on top of the world
don't exaggerate.

Amadeo wrote:Brandon S wrote:
when i say on top of the world u kno wat i mean lol. but he really was on another level at the time..
i wasnt around when MJ was at his peak but i kno he wasnt at his level but still, em was insanely popular at the time
i think michael jackson has sold well in excess of 500 million records & his album Thriller is the highest selling album of all time.

I admit Eminem sold more "records" than 2Pac and had more "controversy" over his lyrical content at his time between 2000-2002, but did he change the face of hip-hop as a whole?
In 1995-1996, 2Pac was everywhere on the rap magazines. 2Pac waged a COASTAL beef, please. Eminem just sold copies and shocked media-infected rednecks, no offense.

dude not like it's really matter but as far as POPULARITY goes, EM>>>>>>>>Tupac ever was. That's the true. Sorry but Pac was only popular in AMERICA, not the rest of the world. Can MJ be this big if he's only known in America? Nope, you have to capture the whole world, and that's what Em did. Outside of the states, Em is pretty much the first rapper that everyone knew and listened to, in the other way, Em introduced them to hip-hop, I'll not be surprised if the majority of this board knew about Em and got into hip-hop after that.
and no offense if Pac was everywhere in rap magazines, but Em was everywhere in EVERY magazines, not just rap magazines, in like every countries too. I hate to say it but lots of people see him as "popstar", that's why his music is more everywhere than Pac, he has fans that don't even like hip-hop.
Fuck it, NO RAPPER has ever came close to Em's popularity at his peak, that's all. Don't bring Jay-Z or Wayne here, they're all LOCAL act and can't sell shit outside US. Jay-Z sold 14k of BP3 outside the states in first week and Wayne did like 50k outside the states in total, that should explain all.
P/ZS: that's my "commercial" view
