The Notorious B.I.G - Born Again

Postby Xray » Nov 4th, '09, 15:26

I been listening to this for like 8 hours straight and all I gotta say is this album is amazing. I got info from wiki about the album and if this was fresh biggie material then how come this never gets talked about? Cause in my opinion this album is his best, seriously even though it has a lot of features it still has Biggie's best lyricism and flow on it, plus the beats on this are just mind blowing. Incredible content for real and everyone that featured brought their A game and killed their parts. After listening to this its like I drained a tank worth of influence, I mean I felt Biggie's rhymes on his previous albums aswell but this was greater. Made me realize how sick Biggie really is. Biggie > Pac any given day. This album is my new shit, I'ma be idolizing this for a long ass time.

What's your thoughts on this album?

Great album. Personally nothing beats Ready To Die, but this is an amazing CD.

Unfortunately there isn't that much original Biggie material about and this album is almost the last of it, unlike 2Pac who has had like 5 post-humous albums is it? (with new original material)

His flow was in another league IMO. Have you heard "Ready To Die - The O.G Edition" ?

Yeah true, that's because 2pac made so many tracks and imo so many wack tracks. Where ass Biggie kept it consistent with dope material throughout. I just wonder how many tracks a day pac made for all these albums o_O. Haven't heard the O.G edition though, how is it though? anything new on it?

Agreed.

Imagine if Biggie hadn't of died (or at least so soon) how many amazing albums we'd have off him by now, always makes me think "what could have been".

O.G Edition is a must have for collectionists and Biggie fans lol. I copy and pasted this to explain it better... http://vibesource.wordpress.com/2008/07 ... n-mixtape/

"The Mixtape Marvel releases a new type of mixtape/collector’s edition of the classic Biggie Smalls album “Ready To Die.” This version features all of the original versions of the album as well as some bonus unreleased Biggie tracks. Some of the standouts on here are Dj Premier’s version of “Machine Gun Funk.” Also, “The What feat. Method Man” with some added lyrics not featured on the original. Basically, this is the version before it got mastered and mixed down. It has a lot of un-cleared samples and lyrics, as well as some bonus cuts. This is a definite download for any Biggie fan… this is your must"

1 Intro (Original Version w/ Uncleared Samples)
2 Things Done Changed (Original Version)
3 Gimme The Loot (Never Before Heard UNCENSORED Version)
4 Machine Gun Funk (DJ Premier’s Version)
5 Warning (Original Version)
6 Ready To Die (Original Version w/ Different Beat)
7 One More Chance (Original Version w/ Uncleared Sample)
8 Fuck Me (Interlude)
9 The What ft. Method Man (Original Version w/ Unheard Lyrics)
10 Juicy (Pete Rock’s Version)
11 Everyday Struggle (Original Demo Mix)
12 Me & My Bitch (Original Version w/ Different Beat)
13 Respect (Original Extended Edition)
14 Friend Of Mine (Original Demo Version)
15 Whatchu Want (Unreleased Original Version)
16 Suicidal Thoughts (Pete Rock’s Version)

Bonus Cuts:

17 Come On ft. Sadat X (Unreleased Original Version)
18 Who Shot Ya? (Original Demo Mix)
19 For The Macs & Dons (Unreleased Track)
20 Pepsi Freestyle (Unreleased Track)
21 Biggie Got The Hype Shit (Unreleased 1991 Demo Track)

That's crazy, I'm gonna definitely have to give that a listen. Props. :worship:

The original version of Ready to Die is hot, but not as good as the finished version. I heard the original version several years ago or something and I was kinda disappointed with the DJ Premier version of "Machine Gun Funk". It didn't capture the energy and grittiness of the album version like Premo usually does. :'(

And Born Again is good for a posthumous album, but nowhere near Ready to Die or Life After Death.

Sorry but I totally disagree with you in this one. This album is straight WACK in comparison to his two other albums. I don't even understand how you would even compare this trash. Remember that I'm comparing it to both of his previous albums, Ready To Die and Life After Death. This album is just as disappointing as some of 2Pac's posthumous releases mainly because of all of the featurings and some production although some of it is awesome (e.g. Dangerious MC's) I don't hate it, I actually like at least half of the songs but I really do think this is not good shit. There are some exceptions but this is in NO WAY as good as as even Life After Death.

I had to be the one to disagree, no one else was doing so. :b:
