6 albums counting Infinite, which definitely showed flashes of brilliance.
If you're on the edge about whether or not Rx deserves to be put with SSLP, MMLP and TES, I would say yes, because of its individuality. Obviously, the skill is there as good, if not better than ever. But some may say the content is lacking. I would not agree with that statement because Em made exactly the kind of album he wanted: literally a "relapse" in the medical sense, in musical form. If Em tried to achieve this, but failed miserably, then it would have been a poor output. But the album fully convinced me that Slim Shady is alive and well, and crazier than ever. Spectacular-

i'm sorry to nitpick (i agree with your other points), but artists have used alter-egos & other personas for centuries & you can't really say any single artist has pioneered it.

We're talking about rap on a whole other level, but I'm glad to see you have effectively disproved Spyder's claim that Eminem came up with alter-egos. :y:

But he's on the other side. :'(

It's not a matter of how well you debate, although I have done debate in high school, it's a matter of basic logic. And we're not good debaters... everyone else are just idiots.

@ LP

all good points again, but i must agrue that Em made the alter ego most famous
also Dre has got his own stuff to work with....supposedly so hence the falling off of quality on his beats
and yea i guess the flow is opinion cause IMO nobody can touch Ems flow when he tries, though BIG is in my top 5 rappers so no hate...
just saying i would put Em in the hall of fame no doubt

No hate here, but I'm going to list your points down one by one here.

1. I agree Eminem mainstreamed the "alter-ego" thing with his excessive reference to Slim Shady. Nothing really much more can be argued here.

2. Saying Dr. Dre's quality decreases due to the "own stuff to work with" is a prime example of a bad producer. He's been having his "own stuff to work with" for around 10 years so I don't want to hear that excuse. And I never heard DJ Premier fall off, even with all those rappers trying to get at him before.

3. It's strictly opinion, but B.I.G. had the illest flow ever. His voice, his delivery, his flow was just crazy on some of those beats Easy Mo Bee and Premo and even Puffy gave him. Love the man. :y:

4. You need to be a senior, literally, in the rap game to be inducted. At least 20 years must pass from debut album to be even considered for the honor, I believe. Or at least I was told on this forum.

2. yeah i guess your right, im not really gonna defend dre because the man gets a ghost for him and i dont think the ghost is that good hahaha, or at least not for him

3. i love BIG, but he was to slow for me, its harder to rap fast and still be on beat which is where Em shines. BIG had some chill tunes and great stories along with all the multies and what not, just IMO Ems flow FTW

4. yes i heard that true, so yes in about 10 years i think he will be inducted especially if he puts out another great album like MMLP, TES and some more maybe alright albums or mixtapes or what have u

You know what I think makes BIG great? His storytelling. You can just close your eyes and see everything he is narrating. It's like a ganger movie. One my favorite songs ever is Somebody got to Die from Life After Death. The way he weaves that kind of story is inimitable.

That song is undeniably one of the best on Life After Death. And Niqqas Bleed and Me & My Bitch had fantastic stories as well.

Notorious Thugs indeed.
If you don't think BIG can flow fast, this will prove it beyond a doubt.

And all the old school ones never got in either. They don't induct you based on sales. :b:

That’s true, but he has made such a big impact on hip hop, on music in general. Not just with sales but he sort of set a new standard in rapping. And not to talk about the short time frame he did it in. I get what you’re saying but I think he has a bigger shot then most of the old school rappers. :)

Again, he didn't exactly set a new standard in rapping. When was the last time you heard a rapper talk about killing children and raping women?

And he has a bigger shot only because more people know him, not necessarily because he surpasses them in any form or fashion, although he does surpass some of them skill-wise.

Look at all these haters on me when I'm just voicing my opinion. :n:

Can't just accept my opinion and move on? :b: Or at least make a LOGICAL comeback, not just solely based on your Stannery?

It just made sense to me lol, but if there is curtain time or something you have to wait to get in then sure he doesn’t deserve do get in before anybody. I was just saying that I thought he deserved to get in, that’s just my opinion. But then again I don’t have a clue what it takes to get in there. I’m just saying I feel like he done so much with his career, but on the other hand so has Jay. He`s built an empire. What I wrote was just my opinion, like you have your :flower:

You're telling me to get off these forums when I've been here way longer? :confusion: :'(

Sales is waaaaaay less irrelevant than influence and quality... waaaaaay less. :b:

Eminem slays Jay Z if u are speaking of influence. Unless u r talking about wat BET and certain minorities think. More ppl in the world are influenced by Em: you can believe that.
Eminem also slays Jay Z in quality: did you enjoy that pop album BP3? Jay Z pu out alot of albums that can be considered good which probably blinded you with regard to "quality". Eminem has released 3 classic albums, one good one and one average one. To me, his quality output is superior while Jay Z is always out there looking to make some extra cash and is undeniably a better businessman.

Fail post. You have the most short-sighted arguments so far I've seen...

1. "Eminem slays Jay Z if u are speaking of influence"

Fail comment. Jay-Z was one of the early MCs that popularized the "Mafioso" (money cash hos) sub-genre of hip-hop. Without him, the game would be radically different. And give me one example of an artist that has switched his style after Eminem started rapping about "raping women and Slim Shady shit"?

2. "Eminem also slays Jay Z in quality: did you enjoy that pop album BP3?"

Okay, in that case, let's judge Eminem JUST by the quality of Relapse, instead of looking at his whole career. That's how idiotic your comparison is. So because you don't like his recent release, his whole catalog is bad? Are you fucking stupid or something...

3. "Jay Z pu out alot of albums that can be considered good which probably blinded you with regard to "quality". Eminem has released 3 classic albums, one good one and one average one."

Jay-Z has put out two definite classics and one that can be regarded as a classic. He has put out more than 4 other good albums and probably 1-2 average and 1-2 disappointing. Eminem has put out one classic, two fantastic, and two terrible. Reasonable Doubt > Anything Eminem will ever do/has done.

4. "always out there looking to make some extra cash and is undeniably a better businessman."

Sigh. Do your homework and come back. You don't know shit about anything that's going on, sorry. :n:

Your post was fail. Word up. No facts at all. :b:
