Mad underrated, because people keep comparing it to Illmatic, since this was his sophomore effort, but still a dope album. :y:

Favorite tracks are "The Message", "I Gave You Power", "Watch Dem Niggas", "Affirmative Action", and "If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)".

Love the album, although it is still several steps behind his debut classic. :b:
Yo, from the first to the last of it; delivery is passionate/
The whole and not the half of it; vocab and not the math of it/
Projectile that them blasted with; accurate assassin shit/

I prefer It Was Written over Illmatic, seeing as it was my very first Hip Hop album.

I LOVE this album! It's my favorite Nas album after Illmatic, I just think it's awesome. My favorite songs would have to be: The Message, Take It In Blood, Affirmative Action and I Gave You Power.

I love this album like I love my mother no homo. IMO what makes this a greater album than Illmatic is that there's more dope songs, that's the only reason I really enjoy this album over Illmatic. Guess during the time of its release people were saying Nas went commercial etc, but I don't agree with them AT ALL. Album is raw as hell, I don't see anything commercial about it at all. Favourite songs: The Message, I Gave You Power, Watch Dem N.iggas, Take It in Blood, Nas Is Coming, Affirmative Action, The Set Up, Suspect, Live N.igga Rap, Shootouts, If I Ruled the World (Imagine That). Shit come to think about it, this is probably my second favourite album of all time.
