Well insane was about him getting raped...it's not exactly everyone's cup of tea. I'm only surprised about Deja Vu, everyone I know says that's their favorite song on the album, or one of the few that they actually like. But to each their own :flower:

None of the above posts have to do with the original thread.

And I loved Rx, so try not to hurt my feelings.

Yeah, but in that song he's classic Shady. Angry, perverted and funny at the same time. IMO, if you dont like Insane, you shouldnt like Kill You and Criminal. They lot similar...

You're off topic.

But for that matter, just about the whole album is classic Shady.

Unfortunately, a rapper doesnt have the shelf-life of an artist of another genre *fact* the whole mindset is about whats cutting edge and what is fresh and rap fans are often shallow and dismissive of established artists often abandoning them for new trends. Most of the young ppl out there are too ashamed to even give old-school rappers a chance at the risk of not being cool, showing how peer-pressure often goes hand in hand with being a fan. By the same token, that pressure will cause new fans to gravitate towards poor imitation's; watered-down husks like Gucci Mane. I still think the South is brain-dead towards hip-hop and you hardly ever hear about them aknowledging their real heroes like Andre 3k. They support alot of the bad rap music while the north is more into that lyrical real rap (I know I'm generalising here)
So I think the South is more fickle but, yeah, age is imortant for a rapper

But that's only right NOW.
In the eighties, everyone thought long hair, tight jeans, and power ballads were cool. Then BAM! Nirvana came and the trend shifted.
Or when Nu Metal was big, and people thought guitar solos were lame? Then, because of bands like Lamb of God, Nevermore, Children of Bodom, etc., everyone wanted guitar solos again and thought NOT soloing is lame.
Times change. Rap is still a relatively young genre. I guarantee you, people will get bored. For all we know, rap is in its equivalent to the hair metal era, with all this manufactured, bubblegum shit.
Rap and its fans and culture will change, just like everything else.
Homeostasis and transistasis.
