Rakim - the seventh seal discussion

I haven't been able to give it a proper listen so I can't share all my thoughts on it but still... I think it's a good enough album, I haven't been skipping that many tracks at all. Rakim sounds good on the mic, there's still something that I think lacks but I don't know what it is yet.This is quite a useless post but I'll share my thoughts when I really do give it a proper listen.

I find the album pretty decent. IMO, Rakim hasnt changed at all on this album. Same old style. My favs are How To Emcee, Documentry of a Gangsta and Holy Are You.
But there is one thing that Rakim should improve on his records - his beats. I know those type of beats suit him, but I have never been a fan of his beats eventhough he has always been in my top 5.

I've been listening to this album more and I'm not as impressed anymore...

one of the best hip hop albums of 09 imo.........but still not up to par with 18th letter
