Rock Bottom, Lose Yourself...didn't really matter when making my point. Any of those would be impossible for Nas to approach.

Was that English? :confusion:

Uh...what part did you not get?

Rock Bottom and Lose Yourself are 2 more examples of songs that are of a caliber Nas has never touched. I picked Sing For The Moment as the example because I felt like it.

In my humble opinion, half the songs on Illmatic plus One Mic is better than both of those songs, but that's just me. Especially The World is Yours.

It always changes though, although Illmatic and Ready to Die always tops the list. :y:

All good.

Ready to Die or Life After Death are both regularly played.
Illmatic should be on anyone's Rap classics list.
Reasonable Doubt - Jay Z
If I could, I would put MMLP or SSLP on my list.
Lifestyles - Big L
Capital Punishment- Pun
Stankonia - Out kast (Before you say anything, it was my first album :P)
All Eyez on Me If we were putting Pac on the list.
Ice Cube's Amerikaz most Wanted or Predator
N.W.A's Straight Outta Compton
The Chronic or 2001 From Dre.
Blue Print Probably.
Doggy Style
And the list can go on.

One Mic?

One Mic is one of Nas's best songs, arguably his best.

Does it touch the aforementioned Eminem songs in terms of crafting the lyrics?

Nope.

I think you're missing the technical side of things. Nas, while a good lyricist, is not a truly great one. He went in and out of his multis and the shit usually didn't line up syllable-for-syllable.

Prime-Eminem, especially the 1999 year, had them every single line. And he did this while actually saying something...not just shoving nonsensical shit into is raps that formed multis (a la canibus).

Lose Yourself? Definitely.

Rock Bottom? Yes.

There's more to crafting Lyrics than just multis, Hence why Canibus is regarded as one of modern rap's greater lyricists. If you mentioned a better song like 8 Mile Road or Rabbit Run, Hell I'd even give Slim more props for Deja Vu than Lose Yourself. You wanna talk about Em's Lyrics? Go look up Infinite and get shat on.

Many MCs, disregarding technique, can be regarded as more lyrical than Eminem simply for the reason that their content has a better message.
