but in SSLP one is darker than the other

i think the reason they changed it was because the 1st one gave off a feel that it was nutty, even though it was, interscope wanted to push it as a more 'personal album' because so many people wanted to know who Eminem was around that time, so they got him outside his 'infamous' house and shot that cover, but the first one is used for the limited edition one i think? hope i helped

That's wrong about the "lighter one being edited" as I have that and its unedited.

I remember vividly about the release of MMLP. They released both covers (with the idea being hardcore fans buying 2 albums). I remember he went on TRL and Carson asked him about it and Em said something that the darker one was what they were originally going to do but he stopped by his old house at some point and took a picture of him sitting on the step; he thought both covers deserved a release.

Yeah, my first copy was the edited version, and it was the house cover. Kids was on it because, like you said, there isn't much point in editing Kim.

My Uncensored version was the darker one. I've seen the uncensored one with both covers though.
