Same here...The verses are pretty average, (well I actually really like the 3rd) but the hook just makes this song so much better than it actually is...It had potential to be one of the best Eminem songs ever...And then the first verse kicked in.

like he was TRYIN in R1 to be shady, but in Elevator... he just is shady. maybe not still the best
but more and more i love it. better than all of R1 execpt SWA and Beautiful

This song was confusing. The chorus would have worked well with a nostalgic track about the old days with Proof, or when he first signed with Dre...then the verses are more random throwaway rhymes.

He must have still been in a drug haze. I think Eminem has a co-production credit with dre on this track, which is another indication it's older.
