encore imo will end up being the better album than Relapse because it has more replay value than relapse.

^ yea I've played Encore since I bought it, maybe three or four times in its entiredy (sp)...Relapse on the other hand I have played at least 30 times (and that's no skipping)...plus when I buy refill I will probably stick my dick in the hole in the centre of the CD and treat it as a vagina...and I'm not joking....

And as far as encore...

Any single track on Relapse>any single track on Encore

Bonus Disc on Relapse (My Darling and CWYWF > Bonus Disc from Encore

Relapse > Encore plus the bonus tracks

Refill > Encore plus tracks

Accent on Relapse > poor pitiful EM that feels sorry for himself on Encore

People that understand Encore sucks and moves on and looks forward to the future of Em> people that try to defend it

Encore has so many bright spots, many of which were mentioned by the OP. Tracks like Yellow Brick Road, Mockingbird, and Like Toy Soldiers truly dig deep into the psyche of Eminem at that time -- which I can stand to appreciate a thousand times more than a track like 3 a.m. or Buffalo Bill that says nothing.

Let's also not forget that even though tracks like Ass Like That and something like, Rain Man, were obviously not his best tracks...again, AT THE TIME they were something different from Eminem, and initially got people amused. Fast forward five years later to today, he tries the exact same formula with We Made You or a track like My Mom, and it leaves everyone not amused -- just pissed off. Going back to being old Marshall again isn't difficult. If only he wasn't so damn stubborn.

What disturbs me is that you can really be this unfathomably idiotic and somehow manage to write coherently. Wow.

The first thing that is apparent from your post is the simple fact that you don't understand lyricism. You're of the variety who thinks that if Eminem does a serious song, it is automatically good, no matter how embarrassingly awful the lyrics are.

Mockingbird and Like Toy Soldiers are prime examples. His lyricism on these two tracks is beyond horrid. I'm not exaggerating when I say an 8-year-old could do better. Never mind the painfully awkward, forced flow on Mockingbird or the monotonous drum mirroring on LTS.

Absolutely ANYONE can "say something" on a track. But I'm going to use one of the most cliche sayings ever since I think it's fitting in a thread that involves references to songs like Mockingbird.

It's not what you say, but how you say it.

That's what defines lyricism.

Rapping something along the lines of "I know that you're mad, and I know that you're sad/But you know that I still love you, after all, I'm your dad/After all the problems we've had, we're still a family, that makes me glad/And it makes all of our problems seem not so bad" disqualifies a song from being good.

This is why When I'm Gone, Mockingbird, Beautiful, and all other 2004-2007 Eminem emo tracks are absolute garbage.

Tracks like My Mom and We Made You feature 7-syllable multi-syllabic rhymes that went over your head while managing to say something, even if it's not something that makes you run for a box of Kleenex while you put the razor back in your desk drawer.

You never knew what made Eminem any good in the first place, so you really have no right to even comment on him.

you're right. But I must say I can't blame someone don't like Relapse because unless you're really into hip-hop, normal music listeners don't break down lyric like that. There's actually a mass part of Eminem's fanbase consists of non-hiphop fans and they enjoy his music for what it is. At the end of the day it's music, if it had crazy multi-rhyming but it didn't sound good, then it's still not complete. While I don't think Encore is any good than Relapse (both got 3/5 from me), Encore is MUCH easier to listen and relate to.

Why don't you like A.L.T ? I think it was way funnier than, for example, My Name Is.

Encore was supposed to be fun,and it was.He did flaunt his lyrical skills on other topics which are funny other than killing or raping.Personally i liked it,and i hope he makes an Encore 2.

As I said, it fit perfectly with where he was in his life.

With SSLP/MMLP/TES done -- I think it was really time for some reflection, and just pure fun.

And also, lyrically, it was still up to caliber if you ask me

Wow, that's a lot. And almost all of them I'm willing to bet are how bad it is or why do people think it's so bad. Maybe there should be a subforum just for Encore lol.
