It's necessary for things such as freedom of speech/petition/press etc. as well allowing those who live in a democracy to pursue what is in their best interest.

A government can break human rights when it feels that a person has done something that harms the democracy, or basically the society at large; even going as far sometimes to say someone has not contributed to that society.

O and read Tocqueville's "Democracy in America"

We read it for my democracy in america class, and its an amazing book, cause the dudes from france and wrote it in like 1850, so he wasn't even an american citizen but he wrote about his time in america and how he felt the democracy was (good and bad he saw in our democracy) as well predictions on how things would change, stay the same, etc. very very interesting, i gotta go to class but i can discuss some shit from it when i get back if the info would be useful SajN :smoking:

because democracy without human rights becomes Monarchy and loses its value,
and also democracy sometimes has to break some human rights to keep the authority going and keep everything going well, thats to say breaking some human rights is neccessary for authority and since authority is neccessary in any constitution so breaking some human rights becomes necessary for democracy in some cases .

Even if you were just average on the outside (but not fat) I could like you if you sounded smart.

OK, I might be missing the boat on this one, but here we gooo...

Democracy - The freedom to do whatever you want.

If I can do whatever I want, can I kill someone? Can I starve someone? Can I rape someone?

Human Rights - A basic set of rights which every human being is entitled to. These human rights are protected AGAINST the freedoms which democracy grants.

... I tired...
