The Overrated Rapper Thread

Postby Relapse.LP » Dec 12th, '09, 08:44

Name one rapper you think is overrated.

Next person will put his thoughts on the rapper stated by the previous poster and post his own "overrated" rapper.

Keeps going in that fashion. Will be interesting if you guys participate. :y:

EDIT: I'll go first: Royce da 5'9"

Slick Rick

Got good story-telling skills, but his delivery just puts me off at times. Too British for my taste.

@ macdaddy, admit it: you only know Royce because of Eminem.

If you guys think Lil Wayne is overrated, you guys are tripping.

Apparently, he's one of the rappers that get the most hate nowadays so I don't call that "over"rated.

Both 2Pac and Biggie were at their prime before their deaths. 2Pac had just released a 4x Platinum album while he was still alive and was close to releasing a new album straightaway. He had 3 films coming up. Biggie was taking a bit of a break after Ready To Die but during the East Coast/West Coast beef he was still everywhere. Yes, their deaths did make them even more famous, but no doubt they were already. I'm talking success/famous wise since that's what you mentioned. ;)

I think before someone have the nerves to call someone overrated, first try and listen to his real music he puts out for his hardcore underground fans. most of you people only hear wayne's mainstream 10 top best club songs and judge his career as a whole just based on that. if any of you want to get technical, wayne is one of the most underrtated underground rappers, most people only hear what they want to hear from him and that's mostly mainstream pop shit. go and listen to any of these mixtapes or albums and im 95% sure you will change your opinion about the dude.

And that's just a few, wayne is one of the sickkest rappers to ever do it. he doesn't get much appreciation b/c of ignorant people like most of you here that only talks down on a person when he feels and his fans feel his the best. get the fuckk outta here you lames. overrated = Eminem
