Lil Wayne is not CLOSE to being the WORST ever.

There are so many whack artists you guys overlook just to pick on Wayne, which I find fucking retarded. His lyrics are better than 70% of the mainstream shit coming out today.

Beats are hotter than 90%.

Yeah, but these whack rappers you're talkin about are not popular. Wayne is. My opinion is based on their popularity and his skills. You cant possibly be familiar with EVERY rapper's records. Those who are not popular and suck as well... I dont hear from them. Thats why Wayne is in my list. I cant fuckin stand this guy and his music, and these muthafuckaz praise him. Thats the reason why I give myself right to say that Wayne is one of the worst rappers.

That's a good argument. :)

Okay, my thing is Lil Wayne is that although I don't listen to his music. I am probably one of the few people (God bless my soul) that actually enjoy his voice, because it's so unique, although how fucked up it sounds. Lyrics are mediocre at best, but you can't say he's entirely whack.

Whack is like Soulja Boy or Hurricane Chris. No content, so no rap. :n:

^Believe me, man, I tried to get into his music. I wanted to see whats all the fuss about. But I didnt like it at all. Then lotta guys on this forum said that Wayne was quite good before he went mainstream high. Okay, so I checked The Block Is Hot and first 2 Carters. And I didnt find anything appealing in that shit.

Now his song with Em... I cant believe that some ppl say that his delivery is his thing. How? He raps just too slow (not just here, but in most of his records) and you can sense so much boredom in his verses that after few listens it just makes me wanna slit my goddamn wrists. Music you listen to shouldnt be boring.

Plus, Wayne is leading rap game in a whole other direction. A direction that undervalues rap's most basic elements, elements that makes hip hop what it is. And now that punk is up to wreck rock too. So fuck him and his blasphemy they call music.

well, until YOU can do better, i don't see the point in complaining.

That was one of the most rhetorical replies ever.

Wow, thats a childish response. I didnt expect that kinda shit from you. I dont like you, but at least I held you for a smart guy...

These people are musicians. Their job is to make you his fan and buy his music. But also, to respect the music genre that got you famous. Not to make a mockery out of rap and make it appealing mostly for 12-year-old girls.

Scott, it seems that me and you think of music in a very different way. Thats why I cant have this discussion with you. It will just go back and forth to the point where it wont have no sense.
I just wanted to point out that Im not glad, that a rapper called Lil Wayne was once a leader of the rap game. Among other things of course, but thats it for now.

if you think our music is dead, then you killed it.

Besides, you said that his job was to get fans, well, he has a fuck load of fans, so he's doing his job alright isn't he? so what if he aims at particular audiences, it doesn't matter. but what's funny about what you said, ... well, i don't see loads of 12 year old girls at his concerts. no, i see thousands of guys, like me and you. so that comment was pathetic and ignorant. and you called me childish.

it's fair enough that you dislike him. your opinion. but to say that he's disrespecting what rap is all about? that's stupid. may i remind you that Eminem and Jay-Z, both superstar rappers .. praise Lil Wayne. i'm PRETTY SURE that those two individuals know more about the rap game than you do, Wic Kid.

i respect Lil Wayne, 'cause he can do something that i can't do, i respect him 'cause he can get on a track with Eminem. he deserves credit. everyone around here loves Lil Wayne. i'm not necessarily a fan, but i wouldn't go as far as saying that he's ruining rap, that's bullshit.

I dont have a problem with him bein popular, but I have a problem with people puttin him among the rap elite when he doesnt deserve it. Rappin about bitches, money, cars you own... I dont ask for nowadays rappers to rap about gangsta shit or the life in the street (I mean they could, but in a certain amount), but I dont want you to be considered the king for no sufficient reason.
And I dont ask to bring back the 90's rap, its different time now, but at least you can do is save some things from the original rap. When you take rap for what it is, Wayne doesnt even belong to this genre. He doesnt even rap, he fuckin talks. And yet, he is considered the greatest in the same culture where Pac and Biggie were the shit.

and there we have it. you obviously haven't listened to Lil Wayne that much at all if you think this. Ignorant prick. fucking listen to someone properly before you judge them.

you're just sheep. following the lil wayne hating crowd. with your anti lil wayne tinted glasses on. do NOT judge someone when you have obviously not heard enough.

@ Wic Kid, almost every rapper raps, at one point of his career, about the same old thing: bitches, money, and cars.

Even the legends, Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G., had verses about that.

@ Scott M, don't go around calling people names... It doesn't make you sound more educated, but you're right. Lil Wayne isn't THAT single-minded about girls and cash. He switches it up often, so that's why he has so many fans... they never get bored of his music.

But yes, there's too many people hopping on the Wayne-hating bandwagon, which I find tiring by now. :(

On the other hand, this discussion is pointless.

I've listened to him properly, you fuck.
Rappin about bitches, money, cars you own

I know those are not all of the things he raps about, but the songs that contain such matter are bein more spread out to the public. Which creates a false image of hip hop.

So shut you fuckin mouth. I've probably gave more attention to Wayne's albums than you ever did. When I listen to a certain album, thats all I do. Just listenin to it. All the way through. Maybe you should do it to, but this time try not waxin your eyebrows at the same time.
