I think it was just a rumour which Cashis started.
nope it was true,it was an emotional album, but Em decided to do another one

Indeed.
Em just scrapped all the material because it wasn't 'current' enough but he said himself he felt 'Beautiful' was the only one out of the batch which was up to par and worth keeping. He didn't like the fact it was all self-loathing material and his wordplay and flows were so slow.
I kind of agree but I think it probably would of still been an amazing album. I mean "My Darling" is just amazing. He should of at least re-did the concept with new lyrics / flow or something. What a waste to just keep this track as a bonus throwaway.
Ca$his said King Mathers was the best album he'd ever heard. He said this after Eminem scrapped it and did Relapse though so that statement isn't any pre-album hype talk. Was obviously something fantastic about it. It's annoying that we won't ever get to hear it. Em is a real artist and says he puts his life into his music so whilst I was getting a bit bored of the self-loathing shit too, it was all too predictable - He should of put King Mathers out since that's where he was at, at that point.
If he wants to document his true troubles and thought on CD then King Mathers should of come out man even if it wasn't up to par lyrically I bet he more than made up for it in emotion and concepts.
It's probably the reason he's re-done Relapse 2 and said it's more emotional etc. Mr. Porter also said there's no 'quaky music' on the new R2. Em did say that he was originally banging his head on the wall trying to re-invent himself but it was Dre who convinced him people wanted Shady. Which is annoying because whilst I love the serial killer shit and love his new manic flows / wordplay... I feel like that stumped Em's artistic growth. Fuck knows what he would of come up with but he was trying to re-invent himself, that's majorly exciting. And Dre kept him stuck in the past. Stupid shit.
With Em saying he don't care what people think no more and he's just gonna do him, he didn't do that for Relapse, he listened to other people. Exactly what he said he ain't doing now. I think he was just trying to please the fans with it.
Probably why he's re-done R2 as I say. He probably didn't even wanna make Relapse like that and now it got a mixed reaction he probably thought fuck it, lets just do R2 as I want it to be done. Which is a great thing. So I'm glad Relapse did get a mixed reaction from critics. I bet that did something. And now R2 is shaping up to be a masterpiece.
