Definitely one of the best. However, Em himself has topped it. The emotion is there, and is what makes it such a great song.

And to people saying there is no G.O.A.T.... duh? It's all subjective. There is no hip-hop God that decides these things. Put people can have favorites, and can share that with others.

There is more to being lyrical than just technical devices such as multies, smilies and metaphors. It's also the ability to use words to communicate emotion and evoke ideas and imagery, which this song does do.

He didn't claim it was absolutely and objectively the best hip hop song of all time. People don't need to type "in my opinion" after every sentence. Most of us have enough sense to interpret when people are stating an opinion.

You're like the biggest hypocrite I've met today, where again did I say he claimed it was absolutely and objectively the best Hip Hop song of all time? Did I say he should type in ''in my opinion'' after every sentence? And if you have enough sense to interpret when people are stating an opinion, why don't you accept my opinion for what it is?

You see the difference?

I see only a difference in words. Not in meaning.

The difference is irrelevant to the point that I am making. And I've lost interest in this and won't be responding further.

Peace. :)

No problem, I've read the post you deleted, but it's okay. You're right, it's kinda pointless to start a debate over sematics.

So, peace to you as well, sir. :b:

So, multies make up a lyrical masterpiece? I know you love multies, but there's more to being lyrical asside of multi syllable rhymes.[/quote]

He didn't say multies make a lyrical masterpiece. He said the song was a lyrical masterpiece and had great multies, flow and delivery. The multies in this song are sick, but what makes the difference is the lyrics are so great AS WELL.

this is far too scientific. do you have a check list for every rap song?

Lose Yourself:

multies [x]
similes [ ]
metaphors [ ]
flow change-up [x]

if we total up the number of metaphors & take a percentage of the number of times he uses personification, divide that by the number of inter-textual references, we get an aggregate "Lyricism" Rating of, according to the algorithm: 87.5/100

Following that logic, even Soulja Boi would have a high score, seeing on how you don't specify how many times each category is used in the song. Unless you did include that in your calculation, which is lacking in that post. So, if you did, by all means, elaborate on that.
