If he still has something to say, something new, or if he keeps spitting verses like he did on 'Forever' or 'Drop The World' I think he should keep doing it. But if he just wants to rap and use that line, 'I just want to do it because I can' or whatever, as an excuse he should just keep that shit at home and listen to it himself. If he's gonna come back spitting wack shit I'd rather have him not come back at all.

Thankfully, it looks like he's past all that Relapse 1 and 'Taking My Ball' bullshit and he knows how he should be spitting again.

I'm hard on Em because he makes me be hard on myself, I'm a rapper and I don't listen to any of my songs because I don't think they're great enough, I know I can do better and I always strive to go harder and do better and that's all I want Em to do.

Thats Good man that lil bit about striving to do better is hella true !!
i ent sayin takin my ball wernt bullshit coz for em it really was but i just enjoy the fact he's still making music his new shit always inspries me to up my writeing game

Well if I genuinely did hate the accent(s) - (there's way more than one), then I would say. I don't fool myself or pretend to like his stuff just because it's him.

This is what people who dislike his accent(s) and new material cannot seem to get though. They think just because they dislike it that it must be awful and anyone who likes it is just lying and a Stan. Totally fucking ridiculous. I love his new material. It's some of his most addictive period. The absolutely manic wordplay and crafted flows do something special for my brain, totally addictive.

All that he's missing for me is his wit. He doesn't use enough metaphors now and he's missing his classic sense of irony. I hear flashes of it but it's not the same. But other than that, he's improved in so many other areas. His twisted humour is just beautiful and the way he injects playful psychoness into a genuinely horrible and... Sick situation is fantastic. It's like Tarrantino. He's the Tarrantino of rap.

Much in the same way as in... Pulp Fiction when Sam Jackson's character is about to kill those guys but he's still being funny as fuck. Making little sarcastic comments about the burger etc. Classic. This is what Em's new music reminds me of. This type of writing.

But he actually sounds much more of a poet than ever before... Just... He treats his listener with so much respect. He knows that there will be enough people out there that will get his vision and references as well as he does.

He never waters or dumbs it down. Always true to the imagery, he never panders. That's what a true artist does. They create a vision for themselves. The best things are individual visions. So many terrible things are done in numbers, art should be a perfected single vision.

I mean when he just references killers by first name terms:
"Stand back cuz' here comes your man Jack"

Just knowing that enough people will get that, so much better than making it more obvious for the sake of more people getting it. Thus making it less effective but more accessible.

Also lines like:
"Stay away from me cuz' I'm dancing to quite a different drumbeat"

That's pure poetry. He's not been on this level of... Literacy since Infinite. And of course his rhyming is mind-blowing not to mention his flows. All he needs to refine now for me is his wit and also, come up with more concepts. But his ambition now is fantastic.

People who call him a sell-out have NO idea what that term means, clearly. Being very famous or getting bigger does NOT equal sell-out. Selling-out is to compromise your art for money and there is no way you can say Relapse is in any way fucking commercial. It couldn't be less commercial. Non-stop lyricism about rape, murder and drugs but done with highbrow vocabularly and poetic vision, this is the stuff of real artistic ambition. This is not made to shift units.

With tracks like "Buffalo Bill" I mean, for a rapper or... Artist period to be doing tracks that specific in taste, that complex, that disturbing at this stage in their career when he's as big as Elvis, is amazing. There hasn't been anybody who's sold out less than him. Have you seen him pop-up in adverts? Nope. One film, he's done one movie and it was a great one and he put his focus into it and it was for a reason, not to make money. He made a lasting film that had relevance and impact on his art.

Can't wait for Relapse 2.

Amen to that. :worship:

But people(I include myself) want him to be like he WAS, and i think that's imposible, so when he is going to release an album, like R1, most of ppl are like: ' Oh Maybe he comeback with an album like MMLP ,TES, '. And when it came out, those pepl are disappointed because he didn't come back like they want.
That's why all the hate.

Well I don't want him to be like he was at all.

If I heard an album that was very similar to any of his past ones I would be way more disappointed.

The reason Eminem has remained exciting is because he re-invents his styles every album. He sounds totally different. And this is how he will remain exciting.

Like he said before, if you sound the same as on your last album, what's the point.

I want to hear something fresh, original and daring, not a repeat performance. The Marshall Mathers LP was who he was THEN, it's not who he is now. So he'd be lying to himself and us.

Also, he's a lot smarter than that now, he can do better. People are just obsessed about these fucking accents, it all sounds good to me. I just want his wit back but I don't want him to do what he's done, I want him to do something he hasn't.

This!!!

People seem to totally forget Relapse was a concept album. One of his concepts involved using an accent to sound more manic, end of story, the lyricism in Relapse was crazy (and even the people who hate the accent seem agree with this) so enjoy the album for what it is, don't go looking for an angry blonde kid who had a load to scream about, he might still have a lot he wants to talk about, but for Relapse he had a theme, he went with it and it turned out (in my opinion) great! I still listen to it now :).

Yes, thats what I was trying to say. I mean, i think MMLP and TES are his bets albums, and that's why sometimes i say ' i want a TES or a MMLP'.
But I know that he is NOT, who he was. So if he does a MMLP will be a big lie. He has changed , a lot, that's what makes him special. You dont know what is he going to do or rap about.
Bout the accent, i don't like it, but im not obssesed with it. If he wants to do the accent, he is free to do it. Is not bad.
I think he is a little forced. He changed R2, he re-do it. Why? maybe cuz he thought the songs weren't that good or maybe because of tha fans, and the critics. He say that he 'dont give a fuck' but he does give a fuck.
So , I agree with you. Change is good. New things are better than old things.
But people dont like changes.

No, i'm not living in the past.
I want he to change. And i like Relapse, is good album. Ive never said relapse was bad.
But sometimes i say that i want a MMLP or TES cuz for me they're the best Eminem cds form me. But with that im not saying that i want a copy of TES AND MMLP, no, i want an album that I cn call 'One of the best'.
But a lot of people live in the past. Is not my case.
I say old Em was better, but i like, love, current Em.He has changed, and i know that.
