Christopher John Macquarrie, 25, of 703 S.W. 75th St., and Jonathan Marnarellis Fager, 22, of 1216 S.W. 2nd Ave., were each charged with felony criminal mischief. The damage was reported at Fager's apartment in the College Manor complex.
Officer Ed Wilkins said the damage included drywall that had been pulled down in several rooms, shattered mirrors and windows, and damage to the balcony, roof, and a window frame. The men reporteldy told officers that they used a sledge hammer and croquet balls to perform the demolition as part of a plan to construct a mural and turn the apartment into an art gallery. The damage was reportedly done sometime between Dec. 14th and 23rd.
Macquarrie and Fager were booked into the Alachua County jail.
