^ Yeah I've always seen Jay-Z as an overrated hack.

On BP3 he has ten out fifteen tracks as features. This a solo album? He shouldn't be allowed to call it that. Disgrace, should be labelled a collab album.

99% of it is just bragging about past achievements too, how fucking lame. Just exploiting his status so he doesn't have to even try and innovate anymore. Not that he ever did much IMO anyway.

He's a leecher. He hung around Biggie, leeched off him and when Big died he started ripping his lyrics. Which he then claims are 'homages' after he's been caught. Not just the odd line either. We're talking line after line. It's just too much to be called homage, song after song. Even on BP3. And "Renegade".

And now he's leeching of Kanye and Kanye's image / sense of fashion etc. He's lame man.

Nas summed it up with:
"How many Biggie rhymes gonna come out yo fat lips"

yeh man u correct on everythin.

But even when eminem said in Never Enough 'As long as you place me amongst one of them greats
When I hit the heavenly gates I'll be cool beside Jay-Z'

He surpassed Jay Z about 8 years ago. Surely he knows that

I'm curious to see what they are and we can all have a happy, little debate. :)

Please, refrain from name-calling, which is clearly immature, unless necessary, and don't turn this thread from a polite debate to a slaughterhouse. :b:

No absolute Stannery too, by the way. This means that you can't just say bullshit like...

Because he just is. or Everyone else sucks.

Unless you back it up with legitimate contentions. :shifty:

I disagree, but hes dope. not in my opinion best of all time. or alive :8)

Dude, Jay-Z (in his prime) was so much better than Biggie was that it's not even funny. You're right about TB3 being horrible, but "overrated hack" is way out of line at least if you're speaking about his whole career. He sucks now but used to be good.

you wanna know why you think that? caues biggie never had a prime, he died before anyone got to see it, i'm almost certain that if biggie had lived to see his full potential he'd be talked about like pac is. Biggie > Jay Z

Let me just say 1 thing ...

THERE IS NO BEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME <--- THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN

the best you can do is have best rapper of the decade ... but all time rofl gtfo

So basically this whole thread and all of your debates are just meaningless

have a good new year :)

PS: this is my list as to who i think is the best for me ( my ears ) not anyone else.

1. Rakim <-- if your a TRUE TRUE Hip Hop Fan then he should be #1 on your list.
2. Eminem <-- Best Rapper of the Decade. ( Flow , Multi-Syllables , Lyricism , Story Telling )
3. Tupac
4. Big Pun
5. Biggie
6. Jay Z <-- as much as i hate him smh because he is so cocky and always talking bout what he has. and do i have to mention him biting rhymes from biggie constantly.
7. Nas <-- he needs to drop the fucking slavery bullcrap that he be talkin bout and all this egyptian shit. If he doesnt release a decent album by 2010 then he is no longer relevant no matter how good illmatic was... thats just 1 fuckin album .
8. Big Daddy Kane
9. LL Cool J
10. Ice Cube

Ok. And I'm almost certain the moon is made of cheese and pigs have the potential to sprout wings and fly.

Both Biggie and Tupac are extremely overrated, Biggie moreso than Pac. Biggie had a fucking speech impediment and was a rapper.

Even if you post full analysis, that's just YOUR opinion. Everyone has different taste in music, so the BEST ALIVE or THE BEST EVER can never be determined. Deal with it.

Amadeo wrote:holy fucking hell. the number of times people have said "THERE IS NO BEST IT'S ALL SUBJECTIVE EVERYONE'S TASTE IS DIFFERENT BLAH BLAH HURR DE HURRR." guess what? we know this. when we say ___ is the best rapper ever, we know it's only our opinion, by virtue of the fact that we fucking said it. we know an opinion can't be right or wrong.

if we put bullshit apathetic qualifiers before every post, it'd be the most boring message board ever.

"This is only my opinion, but, Biggie is...." "Now I know that taste is subjective, and we're all entitled to our opinions, but Tupac is overrated."

opinions, opinions, opinions...

2pac and Eminem are the 2 best of all time, each in their own ways
2 most passionate, 2 most able to be replayed, 2 most likely to truly go down in history

one guy said Rakim = #1 if youre a true hip hop fan. That thought itself is overstated. Rakim was the beginning of complex lyrics in hip hop, and a great pioneer but I dont think many people are callin him the best ever, true hip hop fan or not
ahead of my time, in my prime, one of a kind, out of my mind
