I'm sure 4/17/09 was the date that the widget was created, but it still could have been reset for something new coming... but i doubt it.

I don't know why people are being so obvious as to announce the date it was posted and emphasize it was created for first Relapse album as if that's not eye-watteringly obvious to all of us.

Point is, a flash-player countdown widget wouldn't just randomly restart itself.

Also, two weeks - There was apparently a video shoot in December, which later got taken down, Mr. Porter said Relapse 2 is coming EARLY 2010, he emphasized that and two weeks is mid-January.

Seems too likely to be something happening. I'm guessing something will. But 13 days = Saturday... And I thought singles got released on a Tuesday so maybe just an announcement then the single the following Tuesday.

I think it's a load of BS, if it really was a real countdown to something new why would it say for relapse? It wouldn't, but since some people seem to think it could be something I'll keep this open. Have a grand ol discussion about the possibilities

And by you bringing it up, how far out and all the people involved in those ^^^ marketing tactics, back up why I think it's nothing, because it's a countdown on a website with the wrong album up, which had already been done for the album, def not a marketing plan. Just a slight joke, but if the clock is going by Eastern U.S. Standard time, then that means the something will happen at midnight time on Jan 17th. The Golden Globes are Jan 17th. Is Em tryin to say he will be at the Golden Globes...or at least on the Red Carpet at the show...

jk, I really don't think this anything. So am not sweating it. But if it is then great. I am thoroughly convinced that R2 will drop in March, with single in February, so news will release this month. The rest of this stuff is show ,so I'm sitting back relaxing and watching the frenzy.

That's weird you mentioned that too because I was just this second looking at the official host-profile of Ricky Gervais (who I'm also a huge fan of) on the official website. Since he's hosting, live, on Jan 17th.

I don't think it's a silly suggestion... Gervais is an Eminem fan. He even called Em a comedy genius, here's what he said about him:

"Eminem's a comedy genius. How can he get that much humour and balls in a lyric. There's been nothing like him. His songs are genuinely brilliant, funny, erudite, articulate - he can be damning and still remain above it, and funny."

"There's charcacter, there's tongue-and-cheek and he just spits it. And the videos are little works of art as well. If he wants to co-write my next award-winning sitcom with me, it would be an honour."

That's a pretty awesome summation of Em by Gervais. It's also a big deal for Gervais to say that, he doesn't praise people easily and he's what I and many would consider a comedy genius too. For those who don't know he wrote, directed and starred in 'The Office' and 'Extras'. The former of which got re-made for US and many other countries.

Gervais said he's going to try and be different and surprise and since they're both basically... Verbal outlaws in the sense that, they say what they think and both regularly bite back at media and are both satirical and... Ironic... It's not mad to suggest Ricky might of gotten Em on-board for something.
