i doubt, if relapse 2 was that great it would beat mmlp, who knows ?!
They claim that I'm violent, just cause I refuse to be silent
These hypocrites are havin fits, cause I'm not buyin it
Defyin it, envious because I will rebel against
any oppressor, and this is known as self defense
I show no mercy, they claim that I'm the lunatic
But when the shit gets thick, I'm the one you go and get
Don't look confused, the truth is so plain to see
Cause I'm the nigga that you sell-outs are ashamed to be

speaking of R2 sales...i think the chance of it selling less than R1 is much higher than the chance of it selling more than R1. R1 was "the" comeback album. If its really good, it will sell more over the course of one year but first week sales - either the same or less.

YES :worship:

Except part of that was cause no one heard from him in forever, plus it leaked. But, can't be a song with only him on the hook and one verse :sweating:

I disagree, all three of the relapse singles got fuck all radio play, never saw them on any of the music channels... well you know the rest.

If he has a big successful single on R2 like lose youself/withoutme/stan he could probably go plat first week US.

The only issue is that Em would've to make a friendly upbeat commercial record. :zipped:

This can be true, but it depends on R2's single(s).

even if its hot, i don't think radio's gonna play it...only song that got consistent radio play (for many months) is Lose Yourself. PLus radio hits don't sell albums, they sell singles. Look at Flo Rida. Loyal fan bases buy albums, radio sissies buy singles and ringtones.

I'm not gunna lie sox, that's one of the most relevant contributions to this entire thread, very very good point :worship:

Altho I will say one thing, if ems radio single for relapse was better I think he woulda sold a lot more, only because curtain called moved over 130k units, which makes me believe to a lot of people em was new, but I still think you're right

of course hit singles will help sale a lot more, not matter who you are, and I'm not talking about just 1 hit, it must be hit after hit. I'm sure if Flo-rida has like 2-3 hits on his album, it would have sold a lot. I remember Usher sold 20m for his album in 2004 because he has big hit after big hit in that album, while all his other albums before & after that .. not very good number. Casual listeners need to make sure they'd like at least 1 or 2 songs in the album before they buy it, that's why I'm sure singles like CAB & WMY only make Eminem lose fans.

CAB was received well

not really, it reached #1 just because it's Eminem's new music after years, everyone was hyped for his "comeback", he could have release Fack that time it would still break soundscan.
it also faded away real fast, a big hit need long lasting power, which none of Relapse song maintain to do. Understandable since the album itself doesn't have much replay value.

^ cuz I like I said, it's Eminem name that made it #1, not the music itself. It faded away so fast that one week after people forget about the song.

Eminem still making songs about cracking bottles at the age of almost 40 is just smh to me.

Imagine your dad, at any point in his life, talking to you about "licking cheese under his nuts."

Imagine your dad, at age 40 in his life, talking to you about "licking cheese under his nuts."

Imagine your dad, at age 40 in his life, RAPPING to you about "licking cheese under his nuts."

Imagine your dad, at age 40 in his life, RAPPING to you about "licking cheese under his nuts" with ANOTHER BLACK MAN.

Imagine your dad, at age 40 in his life, RAPPING to you about "licking cheese under his nuts" with ANOTHER BLACK MAN and then suddenly rapping about how he loves you.

Anyways, the comparison is easy to see. :confusion:
Yo, from the first to the last of it; delivery is passionate/
The whole and not the half of it; vocab and not the math of it/
Projectile that them blasted with; accurate assassin shit/
Me and Kweli close like... Bethlehem and Nazareth/
