RR’s ‘09 Worst Album: #1 Rakim “The Seventh Seal”

Rakim is a living legend. Unfortunately, his comeback offering The Seventh Seal doesn’t compliment his lauded status. Purists will probably disagree, but the LP is packaged in bad production (“Satisfaction Guranteed”, “Put It All To Music”) and poor execution (“Dedicated”, “Still In Love”). Elsewhere, he sounds out of touch (“How To Emcee”) and completely out of place ( “Psychic Love”). Clearly, Rakim is still a microphone fiend. However, now would be a good time to consider rehab. We expect more from the God.

To be honest, The Seventh Seal was a disappointment in contrast with The 18th Letter and The Master. But the worst album of the year? That reaches so far the elbows get disjointed... :n:

I thought I was the only one who thought the 7th Seal was overrated.

Nice album and all, just didn't seem to bring anything special to the table. Guess I just wasn't feeling it.

Yeah the album wasn't amazing the nonsensical bashing above is uncalled for

I'd be inclined to agree.

Sort of makes you wonder what promotes RR to put this type of shit out. How can Gucci Mane and Rick Ross make their top albums of the year, and Rakim be the worst? They talk alot of shit on the album, but it was average at worst. Nothing to hate, but just not necessarily anything to totally love.

Wtf.. I know its there opinion an all but fuck there opinion there websites a load of shit.. Just look at there top 10 singles Drake is on there twice at least.

They really are. They just worship a few select artists and when a good artist they don't worship releases something that doesn't compare to their previous work, they hate on them. I mean, 7th Seal was a bit of disappointment but worst of '09? I think Holy Are You (highlight of the album) destroys most artists albums that RR listed as best of '09 IMO.

It isn't exactly a great album, it was a bit disappointing but to be named the worst album, that's crazy.

Damn, can't believe it. I've never been a big Rakim's fan, but this album was one of the best albums in 09 to me, lol.
