Funny you compare these 2 because these were the first 2 rapper's I really listened to. DMX lyrically is far more superior than Ja, but Ja at times has a flow you can't match and a voice that suits it very well. X ALWAYS comes hard on a track, and I think that's his downfall because Ja Rule has proved he can show a variety of emotions on any track.

I'm not really a fan of Ja Rule anymore, I havn't paid attention to any of his new material in years because it's probably wack and will never match the great "Rule 3:36" CD. DMX on the other hand I'm still up-to-date with and I'm currently loving his new material.

Overall, as a better song-maker I'm gonna go with Ja.

^^
Haha, that's funny. I didn't even notice my name, the title of the thread caught my attention right away because "The Great Depression" and "Rule 3:36" were soo vital to my rap career that I just had to leave my 2 cents lol.

I haven't even check those out

IDAHIH & VVV are both awesome though so I might have to

Both CD's are pretty epic IMO.
Check out the songs "6 Feet Underground" by Ja and "School Street" by DMX and let me know what you think.

People will obviously pick DMX, because Ja Rule had beef with Eminem.
Yo, from the first to the last of it; delivery is passionate/
The whole and not the half of it; vocab and not the math of it/
Projectile that them blasted with; accurate assassin shit/
Me and Kweli close like... Bethlehem and Nazareth/
