How long 2 people should be together before marriage?

I've heard alot of people say there is a certain amount of time 2 people should be together before they get married. I heard in Canada its like 6 months or something. I was just curious wat yall think.

Yeah me and my girlfriend have been together for about a year and a few months, and I plan on askin maybe around April or so. Its been a year of seeing eachother alot, last 6 months has been almost everyday from when we get out of school till she goes home to go to sleep lol. I have never felt this way about a girl before, never told another woman I loved her. I think that we are ready, we are definitly mature enough, I've had to grow up alot faster than I should have, and she has too.

I think marriage should be banned... that's kinda extreme.

I don't believe in marriage I think insecure people need it. It's for needy and diffident people. So never, people should never get married.

god damn, you're getting tied down when you're that young (how old are you?). SHIT i'm not getting married till i'm 28 even if i'm with a girl for like 5 years.

I think that every couple is different and the amount of time varies. But I really do think that people should live together before they do get married, but you learn about their natural mannerisms, that they may try to hide when you are on a formal date or whatever.
But sometimes marriage isn't always the best way for the couple. My grandma has lived with a guy she was dating for seven years and they never got married, but you could never tell. I think that marriage is a superficial way of telling someone you love them, and a way to get money back on taxes.

If you love her and she loves you, even if you have been going out for a short time.. why not?
