Hard Being an Em fan?

Postby venomous_volatile » Mar 5th, '10, 17:12

Less of a thread and more me juust venting :D

It's kind of hard being an Eminem fan right, we got few albums in the space he's been round (but quality makes up for quantity), few tours, Em's kind of a recluse so we get very little appearances and news only now and then.

Oh and Em has like no contact with his fans compared to other artists.

It's kind of the beauty of being an Eminem fan though, he's such a hard worker

Vent over :coffee: :b:

Seen Em live twice. Thanks Slim.

The hardest thing is hearing all the hate n critics...I don't think their is a (best) rapper ever...everyone has their favorites and Em jus happens to be a lot of our favorites but doesn't mean he's the BEST...
Besides everyone has a diff style, music is music jus appreciate your fav artists! :y:

It's not hard at all. At least I know everything he puts out is worth listening to.

Well it's not hard being a fan of anybody to be honest. Supporting somebody isn't really an effort, more of a hobby lmao, if you like their work it's fun not work.

As for defending him as the best ever etc. Em's already done the arguing for me. I don't need to ever do much other than highlight his genius, a lot harder if you think somebody like Wayne is the best but even people who don't like rap or even Em rarely deny he's majorly talented.

Even my English teacher who I had a chat with on Facebook the other week (left school about 3 years ago) said Em is an amazing writer and they should teach him in English classes. True writers and studiers of the language (especially poets) appreciate him and know he's the best.

It's only 'hard' / annoying as you say because of the output rate. I mean he doesn't put out as much as other big artists but when his stuff does come it's always 10 times as good as theirs so it's always worth the wait. Just like Tarrantino, he starts from scratch everytime and puts his all into every project so it takes a lot longer. But when he's finished, you get a true piece of art from QT's brain just like Em.

It's better in he long run because he doesn't spread himself thin, it's how you stay exciting and keep your momentum. It's why after 12 years of being signed people are still exploding in their shorts over a freestyle and why newspapers run 50 headlines everytime he sneezes. Because he makes his appearances / interviews exclusive and handpicked. So it's an event. Just like the less of a certain resource there is, the more expensive and precious it becomes. When things are all over the place and easy to obtain, they cease to be special in any sense of the word. They're not unique.

Yes it's hard to be an Eminem fan because you are always seen as a Stan, and as soon as you enjoy a new song or whatever it's because you're a Stan ... that's lame -_- :n:

Yeah but that's just usually lame fucks who are too braindead to debate a point, song, whatever and resort to that babbyish cop-out. So don't worry about lame fucks saying lame things, it's expected.

That's true. I remember seeing this MTV programme about Em, hosted by Peter Andre (absolute twat, by thats a different subject) and there was a Professor of Language on there interviewed who quoted We As Americans and talked about his genius with language.
