Lmao I don't see the point of that.

I like having the CD as a physical thing to and adding it to my collection. But the songs are going to sound the same, why 'save' them lmao, it's the same music, delivered to your ears in the same way.

I did that for Refill; I downloaded illegally Buffalo Bill, and I played the shit out of that song to the point that I kinda got a lil' bit tired of it. To avoid that, I deleted the rest of the songs (Elevator, Music Box) until I bought it so it feels fresh.

That's... flat out wrong.
Downloaded files are in MP3 format.
CD files are in AAC format.
AAC is far superior in sound quality to MP3.
That's the reason I buy CD's, so I can hear the music in the quality intended by the production.

That's probably why I prefer to hear it on the CD first. :y:

No it's not flat out wrong at all. Do you seriously think I'm not aware of file compression.

People rip from CD's directly now and there's hardly any quality degrading. In MP3 sure but even with MP3 - Unless you want to blast the shit at a ridiculous volume, you won't notice it.

We're talking about drums, basslines and rhymes not fucking Mozart. You cannot notice a significant difference, no matter how much you're into production from a normal level playing MP3 track and a CD track.

It's not even close to a significant enough difference to bother waiting an extra few weeks to buy it on CD. Not close at all. Just like I can download a DVD rip of a movie to check it before I buy it. Now, it won't be the exact same quality as if you actually bought the DVD but it's so close it's not worth mentioning. Unless you're inspecting the screen with a magnifying glass.

Seeing the movie in SLIGGGGGHHHTLY better pixelation doesn't get the movie accross better to me. Doesn't create better characters. As long as I can see the movie clearly I don't care.

In the same respect, hearing Em's beats in a stupidly small quality-increased sound (with the volume I play tracks at, just on my PC when checking shit out) doesn't get Em's rhymes across better. Doesn't emphasize his ideas or genius anymore to me.

I check art for ideas, concepts, inspiration. It's more than obsessive quality-checks of background drums. Like I give a fuck. I'll buy the CD when it comes but if it leaks 2 weeks early I'm not going to deprive myself of mind-blowing music because "OH NO, OH GOODNESS, HANG HIM, HE CAN'T HEAR THE 5TH SNARE QUITE AS CLEARLY ON FULL BLAST".

I will wait till the entire album leaks in decent quality. Then Ill pop some pills and listen to the album entirely from start to finish, marking the songs I like the best.

Then

Ill pop some more pills and listen to the songs I enjoy over and over and over and over again.

Then

Ill give the songs I dont like another chance.

Then, listen to the songs I like agian and again and again.

Probably in the car, I like listening to music in the car more :y:

Ill have a pair of jeans on with a black shirt. Probably some sorta graphic T. My hair will have my "styling paste" in it and Ill be wearing some old kicks. With a watch on. Ill also be smoking cigs. And drinking.

Nick, if you play your music through studio quality headphones, you will notice the difference.
I'm an audiophile myself, so I demand audio perfection.
But for the everyday listener who doesn't care to pick up on the discrepancies, I comprehend your standpoint.
I still download the leak first anyway.

Yeah you notice it if you're fixating on it. If you're just listening to the music anywhere from low to high volume, as long as it's not blasing out of normal speakers you notice fuck all. And it still sounds crystal clear.

I really don't care about hearing an obscure background drum SLIGHTLY more clearly. It's only important that the beat and Em's voice is crystal clear to me. And I have all of his shit on MP3 and on CD and it very much is the same. I've tested it many times.

I do care to pick up discrepencies just not what I consider meaningless ones.

And you just said you won't download it first because of that now you're saying you download the leak first anyway lmao?

csg said that, not me.
I was simply pointing out that CD quality is better than download quality. It wasn't necessarily to argue against downloading leaks.
I always listen to the leaks first, then when I buy the CD, I just eradicate the files to make way for the improved ones.

Well why even respond to my post in the first place then lmao. Do you think I'm unaware that MP3 is a lower format than CD quality... It's common knowledge that it's a lower format. Like I said, I listen to the leaks to hear the music then buy the CD to have it in my collection and I can listen to that from that point on. So there's no opposing views here anyway.

Hey, I din't say shit about downloading leaks. I said, when the singles are released, I'll illegally download them, but I buy the CD and listen to the songs there first.

Well I'll be buying it because I want the physical copy, the case, the whole experience and addition to my collection. I support Eminem's artistic visions. I'm not buying the album just to put more money in his pocket.

It's not like he's a strung out hobo trying to sell his music for a penny a piece. He's absolutely, filthy, stinking-for-life rich. He doesn't exactly need our financial support lmao.

In fact it's kind of annoying that he ain't given us more free music. You know, to the people who have followed and defended him for a fucking decade. Ricky Gervais for example gave away the first 12 episodes of his podcast for free.

And you're talking like 6 hours of comedy genius there. You'd think Em could at least give us a free fucking mixtape whilst we're waiting. Or you know, give us some unused tracks without putting them on a re-release and wanting us to re-buy them with the original album.

Yea I wish he would put some free music out there for his fans. Or a mixtape for $5. But I think artists usually only do that to create a buzz, or keep thier buzz going. Obviously something Em don't need to do. Also Interscope are the ones making those decisions and I'm sure free music doesn't suit their ears as well as ours.
