For the people who say Not Afraid is an old song...

serious? he's been doing the sing-s-long kind of chorus since TES. How can people not appreciate a quality song like this when they just got that gimmicky garbage WMY last year I never understand.

That logic makes no sense. I liked the choruses in The Eminem Show so I have to like the chorus of this? I've got nothing against him singing, but I do have something against him singing melodies I deem to be annoying and lyrics I deem to be cheesy.

I appreciate people may like this song and I can see why they would. But I don't. That is all.

For the record, I didn't like We Made You either.

This thread has actually pissed me off. I read a few posts early on and some of you lot are just incredibly hypocritical.

One person says they dislike the song and you get people saying "how can you not like this?", "stop moaning" "take what you get" and all that crap. Funnily enough, some of these people are the same ones who went on and on about how much they hated Relapse all fuckin' last year. Did I jump on every anti-Relapse comment saying "how can you not like this?", "stop moaning" "take what you get"?

No, I fuckin' didn't becuase I'm not gunna change your view on it and I understand if you dont like it. Yet all you hypocrits jump on every single comment that even slightly criticises Not Afriad. Really does my head in.

On topic - I think it was probably the last track made. Jim Jonsin said he had the lead single, then a couple of days later boi-1da tweeted saying Em had just murdered his beat. So I assume that was NA.

^ I must say that this is kind of song that grow on you actually (for me at least), I like it better now cuz I'm used to the bridge. It's not like people saying it has no flaw or a masterpiece, but it's good music and enjoyable to listen to.

I seriously really don't know whats wrong with Em fans, first they get We Made You which was a horrible song, then they get this one, and they still think its too poppy and corny, well what makes all his other singles not poppy and corny Like that Amadeo guy, he thinks his speaking for everyone by saying he hopes Recovery doesn't contain material like Not Afraid and thinks everyone hates it but in reality the majority see this song as a huge step for Em. This song right here is a major improvement over his other celeb-bashing singles.

I have no problem, I totally understand that you feel the song is overrated.
The only thing annoys me about the 'negative' opinion is some people hate on this because they want Shady back or think this is corny but like We Made You.

actually after i've just relistened to Not Afraid ,broken down the lyrics and compared it to other tracks, i hate to say it but i have no way to defend myself of the argument. Fair play Mike.

I think i just let my stan side come out when this song came out and was oblivious to the actual lyrics.
But i wouldn't say it's a bad song as i dont think there is any arguing with the 3rd verse
