First post on the site, so here I go:

First of all, he probably meant it as "ehh" with taking the accents too far. It was, as Em said at the time, "Just rap tracks". The CD has little replay value unless you're a true fan of lyricism.

But once you get beyond the accent, and realize that the guy created brand new rhymes with it (Pistachios-have some...come on!!), you'll realize it's genius. Without a doubt, it's the best lyrical album I've ever listened to. But I don't bump it in the car, because it's not something I listen to when I want to listen to music. I have his other 4 CDs for that (Encore excluded). But if I ever need to reassure myself whether he's the GOAT in terms of lyrics, I have a listen to Relapse. So I'd rate it like this:

1)Eminem Show
2)MMLP
3)SSLP
4)Relapse
5)Encore(even though I think it gets a lot more disrespect than it should. Rain man was hillarious, and people shit on that song all the time)

Recovery will be his 2nd best album. just watch, I'm patiently counting down the days.

Honestly, Relapse was alright but this is fucking 2010.... no one wants to hear about rape, shoving umbrellas in a girls vagina and all this other nonsense that you can't even play outside your house or ipod.

I understand relapse was amazing lyrically, but there was no balance in the album. It felt like i was in a horror film the whole time.

The accent was starting to piss me off a bit because he sounded like someone put a clamp on his balls while he was rapping.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS NEVER IN YOUR LIFE THINK THAT INTERSCOPE TELLS EMINEM HOW TO MAKE A RECORD... PLEASE DON'T SAY NONSENSE LIKE THAT THANK YOU.

I think that was the point, to make it feel like a horror film. Relapse is a concept album, people tend to forget that, he made the album for a reason. I disagree that there was no balance though, out of all of his albums I think Relapse is his most coherent. It stays true to the theme throughout, the mood is constant, the storytelling is constant. Which is why people may not like it, because almost every song was basically about the same thing. Some people like it, others don't. I enjoyed Relapse a great deal, as I've said many times before

But, I'm glad he's made Recovery. It stays very true to what Em intended to be Relapse 2, I think. Recovery is somewhat of a spiritual sequel, they have nothing to do with each other, but it makes sense. Relapse was Slim Shady, and then on Recovery Eminem returns. Makes sense if you think about it. I'm very interested to hear what's on Recovery, more so than I was with Relapse because we have no idea what to expect

Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Actually, all he did was exploit a member whose native language isn't English.
It's not a fair argument, because one party may have difficulty expressing himself.
It's not right to jump on that.

You may be right, but tunisien's logic itself seems to be flawed, not his expression.

Perhaps he is misunderstood, but his argument that people will bitch no matter what, while he expresses discontent at the accent shows irony that goes beyond the language barrier.

Only way I'll forgive Eminem for this is if he comes back on another song with, "Let's be honest, that last Encore CD was *PUKE NOISE*" (I grant him permission to do one more puke sound in this case).

Relapse was "ehhh" compared to his first 3 albums, but he's not in a position to slight it after the trash he put out from 03-07. And given the album's significance (proving to the world he can still rap after being a zombie for 5 years and then nearly dropping dead), it's even worse.
