Yes, and no. They may be more competent in enduring pain, however, they lack the neurotransmitters that make you aware of any pain. Which means that they do not know when pain is inflicited because they are feeling pleasure, instead of pain. Which basically means that their alarm system isn't working properly. It's the total opposite actually, their alarm system is functioning as a pleasure system.

I found it odd though, that Salvornin-A, an A-Typical psychedelic is completely unlike any other psychedelic found in nature down to the very pharmacology. It's a diterpene, and is almost completely directed towards Ego dissolution. An intensity rivaled only by DMT, which is the most traditional psychedelic, technically speaking.

Many different types of weeds, shrubs, and even grass synthesize DMT. It's quite abundant in nature.

I find Botany to be a fascinating field.

Psilocibin Mushrooms have a nice, short duration. 6 hours total, from beginning to end, I'd say. They give interesting visual distortion, and the hallucinations aren't overwhelming. However, I've found them to be--and others have concurred--really strange. A weird kind of feeling. They're almost immobilizing, and the first bad trip some who isn't me ever had was on those things. They're safe at recreational doses, as most people wouldn't take over 3.5 grams their first time--some would halve that dose.

Mescaline Cacti are very interesting. Peyote is the most well-known, but there are plenty of others...many that you can buy perfectly legally if you know where to look...and the visuals are absolutely amazing. Beautiful distortions that are unmatched, I would contend. If you ever find the Essay/Book "Doors of Perception", by Aldous Huxley, he talks extensively about it. Once again, a safe drug.

Some of these cacti actually act as an anti-biotic to cleanse the system of infection upon ingestion, which is very interesting. Hypothetically speaking, of course, I would say that it's the ideal psychedelic. Enjoyable, and not as immobilizing as Psilocibin. The only downside is the nausea that can accompany eating cactus material. It should be noted that the duration of the effects can reach up to 12 hours, with the strongest effects lasting around 6-8.

Of course, LSD is said to be more "fun" than these others. More energetic, euphoric, and less Ego Death, which can be overwhelming to those who don't know what they're getting into.
