for a rap song you gotta wonder how much more fitting can you get - the lyrics match the origin at almost 100%, including rhymes & inner-rhymings, a very very tough job to do.
Sounds weird? fair, it's played live & in a different version, so you obviously can't expect it to sound like the original beat.obzion wrote:Im israeli, so i can undertstand the lyrics in hebrew, and i gotta say - that was pretty awful. obviously compared to the origin, but also as a song. a lot of words dont fit, and it just sounds weird.
btw never heard of this Kendog guy.

Well as my nick suggests, I'm related to him as I work in the record label that distributes his album (Play records), and I can promise you that:
He'd never be offered a contract if he didn't have "it".
Kendog has been in the Israeli hip hop scene since year 2000, performing with soul artist Momy levi (who you probably know) for 5 years & much appreciated by leading hip hop artists,
from Subliminal to quami, kele 6 & so on. His debut album "mila ivrit yafa" (pretty hebrew word)
is one of the most colorful & well-writen hip hop albums to come from in israel.
(again, run קנדוג on youtube, there's a few shows, plus we've uploaded a few video clips of him)
thank you!

Last but not least that guy raps like Forrest Gump so y'all from his "menagement" stop trying to explain how "hard" it is to translate & fix some song and then rap on the beat of it.

i will say Kodman is quite popular in Israel it's not like he is an unknown. HOWEVER i don't really see any point in showing this cover in a foreign language. We have an international section where you are welcome to post Israeli hip hop. Also i don't see how it will capture Eminem fans listening to a song they already know but in a foreign language..
