AVENGED IS THEIRS!
WB Hardcore SoCal Metal Act Challenges for #1
July 28, 2010
Veteran Warner Bros. Huntington Beach metalcore act Avenged Sevenfold looks like a real contender for the top spot next week with the release their fifth album, Nightmare, the first since the death of their longtime drummer, James “The Rev” Sullivan, last December.
The Rev wrote several of the songs and his vocals remain on the album. Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy finished up the disc on drums, and will join the group on tour, where they are part of the CAA/Live Nation Uproar Festival with Disturbed, which starts Aug. 17 in Minneapolis, sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink.
Dedicated to The Rev’s memory, Nightmare is on target for the band’s best-ever first-week with a total of between 160-175k. Its only challenger for the top spot is the resilient Eminem, whose Shady/Aftermath/Interscope album Recovery enters its sixth week in the Top 50 after five straight weeks at #1 (at least on that other chart).
The only other debuts of note include Strange Music’s indie rappers Tech N9ne (17-20k) and Kedar Entertainment’s veteran R&B star Dru Hill (12-15k).
The market was up 1% vs. last week, down 15% vs. same week last year and still down 12% year to date. And you thought pigeon droppings on your head meant good luck.

they give predictions base on reports, it's not like they predict out of their asses so
and Avenged's album is #1 on iTunes, above Recovery

Recovery probably will have a similar type drop compared to last week and therefore take the top spot.

Alaine wrote:I guess we'll see if their album slowed down on iTunes, if Em got back to #1 later in the week like he did last week then Em'll probably sell more.

Alaine wrote:wow I didn't know about the sale pricing at Target & Bestbuy, if so I guess it's safe to say Recovery will have a harder drop this week. We can only hope Avenged's album sell less than projected then -__-

It wasnt any cheaper at best buy then it is normally. It was just in the Ad's. Not on sale. I don't know about Target but as far as bestbuy they are wrong about that. It was placed in the ads. Target it might have been on sale but not at bestbuy. That is for sure. These people are using that excuse to cover there asses last week because there projections were off. I did not look at the target ad's so idk about that. Did look at best buy. Not on sale.
