Okay bear with me.
I hate that people look for deeper meanings. Such as in my English class when we tear apart poems and face value metaphors and reach hard core for something I personally don't think is there. Some people do it to Eminem songs too, like that dude who had that weird theory on how Eminem dissed Lil Wayne the whole album by explaining stuff he touched on. Idk, that one was weird.
Back to the point. Anything can be scrutinised and twisted and I hate that. Some guy paints a picture of a tree and you've got the douches who go "well the tree symbolizes parents care for their child (the grass) and the shade is them keeping the child from the light which symbolizes truth of everything" or "the tree is actually a metaphor for society and the roots represent the lower class society, in the dirt yet responsible for the total structure not collapsing as a whole". Fuck that. It's a tree, not Animal Farm.
This was brought to you by my poetry homework and procrastination.

We had to read Speak and I hated all the symbolism in that book.
It describes this perfectly.
