Eminem has so many #1 albums over there cuz his music (or his first singles to be exact) usually pop-ish. Europe clearly more into pop/dance trend from what i see on charts

stan is quite clear a pop/rap track with that hook actually
there are hip-hop tracks that has more pop-mainstream feel to it and tracks that has more straight urban-street feel to it, No Love to me sounds more like a "street" single than a mainstream single if you know what I meant
and I wasn't in uk so of course I can only speak from what i see on the charts, but if uk has same taste like us how come Eminem the only hip-hop artist selling there?

nathan123 wrote:so your basically saying a hiphop song with a hook from a woman is pop/mainstream?

that's clearly not what I said, it sounds pop so it's pop, it doesn't matter if it's a man or woman singing it. Like Not Afraid, Space Bound, LTWYL sound more pop-ish, but Talkin' 2 Myself & No Love sound more urban, hmm how is this hard to understand? I thought anyone listening to music can quite see this?

nathan123 wrote:i know what you mean, i jus dont get the fact that because its 'urban' it hasnt got a chance of being number one !

Plus our charts in the UK mainly have "commercial rap" in our top 10 on a regular basis.
This isn't America fam charts don't mean shit.
Plus if you knew anything you would realise that Radio 1 dictate what does well in the charts.
Whatever is hot on Radio 1 is hot on the charts
Sad but true
