I don't think he writes a whole verse for people. He probably sits there with them and they both put something together.

I think he does. He raps it on a demo and Dre plays the demo over and over, memorizing the verse.

Then Dre goes and spits it.

thats really sad :coffee:

Yeah and whenever he's written for Dre it's so obvious it's completely his work. It's structured too obsessively like the stuff he writes, it's so clearly from his mind.

IMO it's also very obvious he wrote 50's "Never Enough" verse. I mean you can tell instantly lmao, it's just how recognizable his wit and rhyming is. Can tell the way the flow is structured to, with the pauses that make you have to listen to the next line etc.

Saying his music is a drug and you ain't got to sniff it etc. Em has such a unique wit, well... did / sorta still does. Some call it average until you hear other people say it, and you can recognize it's his instantly. Showing how in his own lane he is.

Dre is a producer not a rapper.

Well if you ain't a rapper, don't rap.

Writing your lyrics is the bread and butter of rapping. It should be taken as read and anybody who doesn't write what they say, shouldn't be saying what's been written.

Imagine rappers getting production credit, only to have had 'ghost producers' made the beats. Then in defence people saying "X is a rapper, not a producer ;) "

Not saying I dislike Dre's rapping. Or that I particularly care. Just a point.

I agree but hey it's quality music nonetheless ;)

Maybe I should've said Dre is not a lyricist. Because in actuality he IS a rapper because he raps.

They don't mind. You think they let his "racist tape" slide but Dre is gonna get pissy that he wrote the word or said it at a concert? Nah.

Usually whenever he's on a song with Em, it's evident Em's wrote everything.

Don't know about other tracks but I'm sure he contributed a lot to The Chronic 2001.
