Writing your lyrics is the bread and butter of rapping. It should be taken as read and anybody who doesn't write what they say, shouldn't be saying what's been written.
Imagine rappers getting production credit, only to have had 'ghost producers' made the beats. Then in defence people saying "X is a rapper, not a producer"
Not saying I dislike Dre's rapping. Or that I particularly care. Just a point.
