"On Fire" and "W.T.P." are really sick.

"On Fire":
Hit a blind man with a coloring book and told him "color inside the lines or get hit with a flying crayon"
Fuck it, I aint playin'
Pull up in a van and hop out at a homeless man holdin a sign sayin'
"Vietnam vet, I'm out my fuckin' mind, man"
Kick over the can, beat his ass, and leave him 9 grand

"W.T.P.":
From the north, east and west, but when
It comes to them trailers in them south parks
Muffle it, 'cause, homie, that hood's tighter then Kenny's

That's vintage Shady.

"On Fire" - 9/10
"W.T.P." - 8/10
"Cold Wind Blows" - 7/10
"Won't Back Down" - 6/10

"Cold Wind Blows" seems needlessly vulgar in places, like Marshall was trying too hard to shock.

I will add that "Cold Wind Blows" has one of the best hooks Em's ever done. I almost bumped it up to an 8 for that, and I still might.

Recovery has the reply value of encore. Excluding Almost famous and 25 to life. Relapse goes HARD.

CWB is easily one of the best tracks on the album.

And yeah they're both great tracks. There really isn't a single WEAK track on the album. There are tracks I skip due to not liking them as much or having heard them too much... But they're not actually bad. Album is top to bottom consistent.

I think it'll garner more praise as the years go on. I think it was difficult for these two albums to get true fair shots anyway, from anybody. Given the expectations, the fact its a huge comeback etc. not saying everybody is wrong but I think as the years pass, the smoke and mirrors bullshit fades and the tracks set-in, they'll definitely get higher regarded.

His "On Fire" rhyming is class too...
Christmas is off, this is as soft as it gets, this isn’t golf
This is a blistering assault.
Those are your wounds this is the salt
So get lost, Shit dissin me is just like pissin off the wizard of oz
Wrap a lizard in gauze,
Beat you in the jaws with it, grab the scissors and saws
And cut out your livers gizzards and balls
Throw you in the middle of the ocean in a blizzard with jaws.
So sip piss like sizzurp through a straw
Then describe how it tasted like dessert to us all
Got the gall to make Chris piss in his drawers
Tickle him, go to his grave, skip him and visit his dog

That whole segment just sounds orgasmic with all the S's and Z's. I don't ever hear anybody else playing around to that degree with the sounds of words alone. Like purposely placing / picking words that all mesh and clash in that way to sound like that.

This is really great too...
I'm a skillet / you're a fucking flash in a pan
I pop up, you bitches scatter like hot grease splashin a fan
Mr. Mathers is the man
Yeah I’m pissed but I would rather take this energy and stash it in a can
Come back and whip your ass with it again
Saliva's like sulfuric acid in your hand
It’ll eat through anything metal, the ass of iron man
Turn him into plastic, so for you to think that you could stand a fuckin chance is asinine, yeah ask Denaun man

At first I used to think "On Fire" was meh just due to thinking it was kind of aimless. But then when you just enjoy it as a word-fest it's very satisfying.

his delivery on WTP is perfect. even though i think the content is corny i can still listen to it just because of how great his flow and delivery is. so smooth. wish he'd rap like that more often.

"So ladies if your belly button's not an innie then I'm outtie. Now hop in my minivan, let's get rowdy" :y:

I like all three verses of W.T.P. but the two first are easily the best. The way he describes that white trash party almost makes you feel you are there. Vivid thoughts.

EDIT: I don't really get the hate for this song. I know it's a silly and maybe a predictable theme but at the end of the day it is just entertainment, and I felt entertained by this. Only flaw is the hook - not bad but could have been better.
