I think he memorizes AS he records. Em's such a perfectionist that I'm sure there's time's he'll record the same shit 100 times until he's satisfied.gutawafang wrote:I don't think he memorizes before he records. That's why he needs the paper while recording.

GenePeer wrote:Well, memorizing what you wrote can't be so hard, can it? I think he memorizes it. And did Paul tweet something like "writing/correcting the lyrics" for Recovery. Why would he do that if Em has it written properly somewhere.

Amadeo wrote::shakehead: We all know Eminem handwrites his lyrics on paper. That is not the question.
The question is how he lays his vocals. Does he read them like in No Love or does he memorize them and lay them without holding the sheet in his hand and reading them?

But how the hell does he emote so well while he's reading?
To record a song like Kim, you can't be reading off a sheet. You have to be moving your hands to generate that sort of emotion in your voice, if you get what I mean. Literally screaming into the microphone.
You can't do that while reading off a lyric sheet.

you're right.
but i think when ur writing something and constantly reviewing it over and over,it gets stuck in your head.
Em is a perfectionist, propably records a verse like 8 times before he gets it right,or is fully satisfied with it,so by that time,he memorizes it.
