But how come he mentions "Empire State of Mind" when almost any hip-hop fan can tell you that is not Jay's best effort?! At least he left himself out...

Well that's not humble that's just, normal lmao.

Who the hell puts themselves on a top 10 list.

When rappers get asked their top 10, it's assumed 'excluding them' as that's why they're asking them lmao. It's their top 10, not the top 10 including them.

Sometimes i really feel you out to pick sumthing but nwae,

"Seems" means just that seems. Not that he is, or i believe or whatever but that he ddnt put himself on the list just SEEMS humble.

Now, i'm not familiar with Biggie and Pac and Rakim (who you will probably quote) but here are five exmples when they DO put themselves in top tens...

Jay Z- when the "hottest Mc in the game was announced last year"
Kanye- Saying he's only about three rungs down
Lil Wayne, drake and basically the whole of young money
Eminem- TIC etc
Timbaland- saying he's the best producer
The guy who poduced thriller- referring to Kanye West
A couple people (not sure the names but imma guess) on Nas interview on who he thinks is the greatest like Cool J and Cube?
And besides hip-hop (yeah, i also listen to other forms of music) LOTS of artists put themselves up there just not on the number one spot.

You totally missed my fucking point.

What the fuck is that? Totting up people who have put themselves in lists before - I don't give a fuck who has or hasn't. What I'm saying is, to any normal human being or artist, or comedian or whatever - In any field - If they get asked THEIR top 10, it's assumed themselves are not included.

Anybody who isn't an arrogant cunt knows that. It's just basic, common sense. Kanye will always mention himself and Em's was a lyric. Not that it's even the point. I didn't go out of my way, I'm just saying, it's not humble to not include yourself. It's the norm / expected.

You're taking that absolutely literally lmao. It's more of an outburst than a direct challenge, do you seriously think I was saying nobody in living history has ever put themselves in a list?

I think the fact English is clearly not your first language is the reason for your misunderstanding / taking literal of things and, making foolio of yourself. Stop now.

English isnt my first language but hommie... gt quite a good grasp of it. Lets not be caught up in semantics, point is, the list is not one from endless hours of careful analysis but SEEMS (hope to God you read this word this time) to have been made on the spot like someone has already pointed out.

Now you are making a different point lmao.

We weren't discussing if it was on the spot or thought through, who the fuck cares about that. You just said it was humble of him to not put himself on it.

And my response was and still is, it's not humble to not include yourself. That's the norm.

You are the one still caught up in semantics by yet again highlighting SEEMS as if I didn't see it the first 100 times. The point remains, as does my response.

Lmao. Man, it seems nobody gives Em his respect unless they're pressed to. Like Nas before, said about Em's comeback that Em contributes so much lyrically etc. but unless theses guys have his name brought up they never mention him.

How the fuck are Lil Kim and Rick Ross worth mentioning but Eminem not. Ridiculous.

He mentioned him in the Untitled booklet amongst names such as Michael Jordan, Frank Sinatra and Muhammad Ali.

Yep, that speaks for itself.
It's obvious that Nas wasn't actually naming "Hip-Hop's Best Lyricists", he just named some songs that he currently likes.

In order to become a great, I think you need to listen to all kinds. Even poor lyricists can teach you something, at least what not to do.

We all relate differently to the lyrics so I guess we've all had bad songs as favourites at some points. I know I have!

Nice, I don't have that album as a physical copy.

What does he say exactly?

I know that, I might teach somethin from them, but considerin them the greatest...well, that just aint right.
But i kinda get what you think. For example, one of the worst songs Em has ever made is Just Lose It, but i like to listen that song. It cheers me up, I dont know.
