But how come he mentions "Empire State of Mind" when almost any hip-hop fan can tell you that is not Jay's best effort?! At least he left himself out...
Well that's not humble that's just, normal lmao.
Who the hell puts themselves on a top 10 list.
When rappers get asked their top 10, it's assumed 'excluding them' as that's why they're asking them lmao. It's their top 10, not the top 10 including them.
Sometimes i really feel you out to pick sumthing but nwae,
"Seems" means just that seems. Not that he is, or i believe or whatever but that he ddnt put himself on the list just SEEMS humble.
Now, i'm not familiar with Biggie and Pac and Rakim (who you will probably quote) but here are five exmples when they DO put themselves in top tens...
Jay Z- when the "hottest Mc in the game was announced last year"
Kanye- Saying he's only about three rungs down
Lil Wayne, drake and basically the whole of young money
Eminem- TIC etc
Timbaland- saying he's the best producer
The guy who poduced thriller- referring to Kanye West
A couple people (not sure the names but imma guess) on Nas interview on who he thinks is the greatest like Cool J and Cube?
And besides hip-hop (yeah, i also listen to other forms of music) LOTS of artists put themselves up there just not on the number one spot.
You totally missed my fucking point.
What the fuck is that? Totting up people who have put themselves in lists before - I don't give a fuck who has or hasn't. What I'm saying is, to any normal human being or artist, or comedian or whatever - In any field - If they get asked THEIR top 10, it's assumed themselves are not included.
Anybody who isn't an arrogant cunt knows that. It's just basic, common sense. Kanye will always mention himself and Em's was a lyric. Not that it's even the point. I didn't go out of my way, I'm just saying, it's not humble to not include yourself. It's the norm / expected.
