He has never represented us at all. If you talk to people from New York who are hip hop heads, it has always been Biggie, and since then it has been Nas. Even those who consider Nas to be better than Biggie (such as myself), we still acknowledged that Biggie was the king of New York.
Even going to places like Brooklyn, there was never ever more of a feeling for Jay-Z than Biggie, who truly is an immortal there, saying anything other than praises of him there and you're in trouble.
Harlem was surprisingly a Mobb Deep town (Prodigy viewed as king) and Queens
and Statten Island are easily Nas towns
, but anywhere near Jamaica is 50 Cent, who has the most loyal following of any artists in the NY boroughs. Yonkers is Jadakiss who is simply adored there.
Biggie called himself Frank White, who was the character from the movie King of NY, and everyone allowed him to say it. That's King of NY stats.

First off what do we mean by "king", do we mean those that represent it by being the most known or those who keep it real and pump out quality shit consistantly? If the latter than GFK definitely deserves it more than all three.
Doesn't brooklyn love Jay? But I do agree with the Biggie part.
While he does get some love here, the Wu definitely run Staten, everyone rocks Wu sneakers and clothes and act like they know them. (I live here)
This part I disagree with when Biggie was alive hardly anyone called him the King of NY. Hell the Wu called him out for biting Nas' cover on R2D, it wasn't until he died that everyone referred to him as the king of NY.There were tons of rappers when he was a live who were on his level Boot Camp Click, DITC(Lord Finesse, OC, Diamond D, Big L), Mobb Deep, Jay z, Nas, Jeru the Damaja, MOP, the Wu. All these artists are as guilty as we are in nostalgic sacred cowing Big.
