My money says you hated Relapse at first too.

nope.

dope rhymes, versatile flows, perfect production, great storytelling and cohesive as fuck. what's to hate?

only flaw is the two lead singles.

Do you really think just because a song has a story that makes it good most of the songs on relapse were just about raping and killing people. And some of the concepts were just random. Like I said production wise and a few of the flows tops recovery but that's all. Recovery had more meaningful songs and that one song No love tops two of the feautres on relapse.

Because that song has no value.

No value? He destroys the ridiculous nature of censorship, the celebrity/pop-star culture and the perception of the Slim Shady persona in an hilarious and radio-friendly way. It's genius.

The Real Slim Shady has a purpose...so, I don't understand how it has no value?

"meaningful songs"?

how many meaningful songs did MMLP have? Stan, The Way I Am, parts of Who Knew and then some random bars here and there on other songs. Do you think Recovery is better than MMLP?

Stan, real slim shady, way i am, who knew, criminal, kim, drug ballad, marshall mathers and i'm back if your saying they had no meaning then its clear you don't listen to lyrics.

kinda how i see it. relapse had better "top" songs, better flows, etc,but it was just all over/random stuff. like underground, it was great rhyming wise, and production, but it was just all random shit put together. liek Em said himself, it was basically just him proving he can really rap again.I just see recovery as a more complete, all around album.

simple is good. though Em can deliver some pretty awesome complicated stuff, but as of late, for me, most of it's felt like overkill.

Actually to be honest I was thinking about "My Name Is" when I wrote that, but I do hate this song as well.

Weren't people bitching about Em's lyrics being simplified on Recovery, though? I mean, he has plenty of great lyrics, but a few of the lines people were complaining about...that shit was "simplified" and yet people didn't like it

Relapse? Too much Dre starts to get boring.

Some Dre is good though.

Em, Dre, Porter, Bass Bros. :y:

Relapse is a tough example though based on Em's style at that time. Let's hear Eminem rap over Dre beats right now and i guarantee it will be amazing.

As long as it's produced "in house". I don't think it's a coincidence we're having this discussion after Recovery, an album where Em didn't produce any tracks and Dre only produced 1.

I respect your opinion but disagree i feel relpase didn't have one weak beat in the slightest most consistent production on an eminem album to date even refill had some of the best beats in em's catalogue.
