Always loved the live performance where Jay-Z had John Mayer join him on stage to do 'D.O.A.' and 'U Don't Know'.

This.

Hot97 promoted the track all week as a song that would change hip hop, and when Flex finally dropped, it was nothing but a decent track. Considering Hov's camp went so far and beyond making it known that it wasn't the official single (I mean who cares), everyone here realized that he was gonna release something for the radio as the first single, thus so much of this song was ignored because it was obvious immediately after he'd go back against so much of what he was saying. If he followed this up with "Brookyln, we go hard" then it would have been a perfect combination.

Plus biting some of Biggie's rhymes in the song didn't help.

I was so excited cause I was expected it to be the track featuring Drake (Drake dissing autotune, fuck was I thinking)

Had my ex with me, and each time the chorus came I was expecting Drake next.....never happened and I was disappointed.

But I replayed it a ton of times after that. I really liked it, great track

And I remember when he performed it and brought t-pain on stage haha

Great beat, great song, great album. I was surprised about the sampled "Na na na" part, that's pretty known in football stadiums for ages.

D.O.A was basically Ye's idea lol

He didn't know what I was going to do or where I was going to take it, but it was actually his fault...After we made the 'D.O.A.' record about a month ago, we were like, 'if it's got to go, it's got to go

And Kanye follows it up with shitty Auto-Tuned singing on his new album.

Brilliant. :worship:

I liked the track when it came out, but went ape shit when Slaughterhouse did the near 20 minute "freestyle" on it. The beat is great. :y:

This is a much better attempt at making an anti-autotune song though it's not just about that particular thing, and you can easily tell by the verses that they didn't make this song to gain popularity anywhere and come off as some kind of a bunch of anti-autotune pioneers.

I havn't heard all his albums but you can do a lot worse than picking up "Return of da boom bap" from 1993. One of the best albums of all time in my opinion with a lot of classic tracks.

I can't pretend I really gave a shit. Mainly cause I knew he didn't actually care. Mocking autotune for being popular for iTunes singalongs is hilarious when you're the biggest sellout of a rapper in history. When your whole album has no real meaning to it. This was clearly just something he jumped on because he saw people hating on autotune so he thought he'd get somewhere with it; then you listen to Blueprint 3, what about A Star Is Born? That chorus sounds pretty autotuned up to me.

And he isn't actually even saying anything in this song. He grapples at a vague concept talking about not being just a "popular" song or whatever, which is hilarious because as I said every song he releases is exactly that. So in conclusion, I didn't give a shit.
