Not once did I say we were league challengers. If you go back to my first post you'll see I stated that Chelsea was a team capable of "challenging for a top 4 finish".

City basically went from a top half team (generally, at best) -> challenging for all competitions.
Chelsea went from a club challenging for a top 4 finish -> challenging for all competitions. That's a huge difference.
Like I said, it's all the past now. We're now both great teams and this season will be a very interesting one.
