Devil'sAdvocate wrote:Some people just refuse to understand, what is conceived as great songs from Encore are not all that at all.
People seem to think these tracks are very good:
Like Toy Soldiers
Yellow Brick Road
Never Enough (Ft. 50 Cent,Nate Dogg)
Encore (Ft. 50 Cent & Dr.Dre)
Evil Deeds
Mosh
Ricky Ticky Toc
Just Lose It
Mocking Bird
Yellow brick Road and Evil deeds/Like Toy Soldiers have a couple instances of good rapping, though.
Plus, why do people hang on the illusion that Encore is bad because the tracks intended for it leaked,Em has full creative control and i bet my bottom dollar Interscope does not give him a deadline for turning an album in,no,he (with the drugs in him) chose to make these songs,im referring to Rain Man,Ass Like That etc....
Only tracks from that era that are really good are:
We As American
Love You More
Bully
Spend Some Time

Spend Some Time is not that good, it's decent. I like Em's verse, Obie's was good too, but the song isn't better than the ones you claim here to be "bad." Seriously, how the fuck are Yellow Brick Road- classic Em storytelling song, Like Toy Soldiers is good and has a good message, it's not great, but it's good, and so is the video- a perfect visual for the track, people hate on that for no reason.
Ricky Ticky Toc was just a plain good song. It wasn't great, it wasn't good good, and it didn't suck, but I take it for what it's worth- not bad.
Never Enough is a good song, idk why you hate that song. Both verses are good, and Nate's chorus is great too. Still don't understand the hate on that.
Encore I consider a great mellow club song. Not the 3/4 poppy club songs that I hate on Encore that I deleted off of this OP. The going back and forth shit was nice. It was not a typical Em club song, where most of them- The Real Slim Shady, Just Lose It, We Made You, etc. focus more on celebrities, then just spitting. I liked the song personally.
Evil Deeds had some little tidbits of storytelling. It's decent. I would agree w/ this example you make, but regardless, myself- I like this song as well, just melodically.
Mosh is a dope song, I don't see the hate on that either. I liked the so called video for it too, and it was a classic Em vs. the government, fuck Bush song. He has targeted him before obviously & people liked those respectful songs, so I see this as no different honestly. I think it's underrated, not overrated.
Just Lose It sucks. It's funny and catchy, nothing more. A typical first single by Em as I said. People that think it's great are stupid.
& Mockingbird is a great, passionate, storytelling song. I bet you don't have kids, or at least daughters, for you to understand the importance of this shit. I don't have daughters, I'm just putting the track into perspective. Love the video for this too.
So explain to me that.
