While "Relapse" acted as a practice ground for him, "Recovery" was him acting confident once again. I liked the Album from the very start, there was no going back and saying that "I love Recovery now". The Beats sounded different, nothing that Eminem has ever rapped over.

Truest shit I've seen said about Recovery on here. No matter how sappy or inconsistent you may call this album, it'll always be the album that got me heavily back into Eminem and rap in general. The minute I heard this thing, I was hooked (for a month, at that). This is music where no matter how many times I hear the hook to Cold Wind Blows or the volume decrease in Won't Back Down, I crack a smile.

I guess that's the problem with some...They need to learn to fucking smile.

I think we can all agree with the fact that Recovery is definitely a decent album.

Em' was experimenting a lot with new flows and approaches.
I'm glad it didn't completely blow up in the engineer's face..Having to put up with those amateur beats..
Em' still kills them.

I don't understand what's so great about Illmatic. In fact, I'm not even very fond of Nas.
But then again, everything is all opinion.

Recovery always sounds fresh to me. It has it's flaws, so does every Album. But the fault that makes Recovery such a hated(Not in a literal term) or discriminated Album is the production on few songs, they need a little sharpening.

It also suffered the faith of "The Underdog". The Top Producers couldn't make a name out of this Eminem Record, while a less known guy makes the dopest Beat on the Album(Cinderella Man) and earns a name for himself. If my knowledge serves me right, this song has sold more Via. "ITunes". :worship:

It's not like the songs are necessarily bad, but I haven't found myself replaying them in months. No reply value and clearly he bitched out to make it. Fuck you, your last cd is not in your trash.

Opinions are opinions. You can attempt to force and change 'em, but in the end, they still have their own tastes.

Oh yea? Watch me calling Recovery a boring piece of shit when Soulja Boi drops @TheRealSouljaBoyTellEm album in 2020. A boring piece of shit is a boring piece of shit, what can change that? time can't. Image

No, time cannot change the quality of an album. It can change your perception of an album, but not the quality. That, however, wasn't the point.

The point is that Eminem fans seem to be in constant admiration of the album before the current one. While the argument could be made that every album in his discography has degraded in quality chronologically, this argument does not hold up very well, considering the fact that Infinite isn't generally considered to be his best work...unless you're class_theking.

My point, as I'm sure you know, is that a loud percentage of fans will always point to an album prior for an example of better music. His earliest supporters didn't like the "drug shit" that started with the SSEP, TES was too soft, and so on and so forth. That doesn't mean that they are always wrong.

The statement was in jest, but the spirit of it is rooted in truth. Just wanted to be clear, as your counter statement seemed to be addressing something entirely different.

Recovery is approaching classic territory atm for me.
I think it's a very decent record.
I mean, you know...The songwriting is great, decent content and shit.

I really only base classicness on the notoriety a album receives in terms of overall replay and presence value.

Like when you pop the CD in and go "oh boy, here we go again fellas, more retarded shit from my boy Marshall."

I'm actually disliking Recovery more and more after several rotations. I really can't say there's too many songs I like here other than GTC, and like others say the production and hooks were godawful. Thing that actually pissed me off the most about this album was how expletive it was, too many lines were wasted with corniness that didn't contribute anything at all to the verses. Much headdesks were had while listeing to it.

It gets everything right in execution but lacks originality.
